They come out several times during the growing season.  I pay them for the entire season.  I just contracted with them again for this spring and summer.  Their price has gone up a little bit.  I haven't done a lot of comparison shopping, but I suspect that they are in the ballpark with most of the providers.  They fulfill their contract and do what they promise.

Our yard was in somewhat bad shape due to several years of neglect (I grew up in the city and am not well-versed in lawncare; despite all our efforts the yard was dying due to a combination of factors). Someone from Champion showed up at our door for a free estimate with hours of my leaving a message on their machine. I thought the quote I was given for lawn fertilization throughout the year was extremely reasonable. In fact, it is about 50% cheaper (approximately $78 per application for a yard that is about 1/2 acre) than what I would have paid to do the work myself (not to mention the time I would have to put in as well). You pay as the work is done. We have had two fertilizations so far and our yard looks so much better than it did two months ago. I am so pleased with the service provided by Champion so far!
