Over the next 11 months, after the chimney work, we had several phone calls and meetings with Mr. Soucy to discuss progress on the project and were given various dates of completion which were never met.  When we visited Mr. Soucy in his shop in November, 2011, seven months after we signed the contract, he was able to show us 11boxes.  These were cabinets in name only.  Rather, they were only the outside box frames, with no molding on the outside, no runners or drawers on the inside, and no doors. The average to that point was 1.5 boxes being built per month and nowhere near completion.  Throughout the eleven months, Mr. Soucy gave us date after date as to when he could finish our kitchen.  None of those dates were met. On numerous occasions, he told us that he would come over to take further measurements, but he never did.  At the end of eleven months, Mr. Soucy told us that he could not project when he could complete our kitchen. At the last meeting at the end of February, Mr. Soucy  still said that he could not say when the kitchen would be done, and that his son and grandson were no longer working with him (in effect, he was indicating that he did not have the help to get the job done).  Although we entered into this contract in good faith, this project was not approached in a professional manner by Mr. Soucy, as written in the contract. We told him to end the project and that we wanted to be reimbursed for the $12, 500 minus the cost and labor involved in the chimney work.  Mr. Soucy never contacted us after this.  I then went into his shop to discuss this matter and was told that I had no right to walk into his store off the street without an appointment.  He was extremely rude at this time and said that he was still willing to finish the project.  I told him that I no longer had any confidence in his ability we have not received any money back from him.
