JB Perry's Arbor Care Tree Company

This guy gave us a good old fashioned screwing. We paid for seasoned 16" lengths and got green wood in totally random lengths (see photos), much of it 22" pieces that dont fit our stove. We sent him a photo of a chunk of his wood on a hygrometer that showed how wet the wood is, explained that we were in the difficult position of still needing seasoned wood to heat our house immediately but now being out of money after spending it on his green wood. We asked him to either partially refund us and leave the wood or come pick up the wood and fully refund. He remained unresponsive to all communication. Update: John Perry has started harassing us since I wrote the above negative review, yelling and swearing at my family when we are in the yard as he drives by our home, and most recently chasing me down on the highway to ride 3 feet off my bumper and then pull up next to me to yell YOU ******* SCUMBAG, at me and my 8-year-old daughter. Is this the kind of person you want to do business with? Update: restraining order granted based on sufficient evidence of harassment and stalking 11/24.

We used John Perry to take down two trees. He came promptly and removed them. His team cleaned up and hauled away the debris, and it didn’t look like they were ever there. He came back in a few days and removed the stumps. The cost for his service was reasonable. We would use him again if necessary. We recommend him highly.

Mr. Perry has been taking care of our major tree work since 2005. His crews are skilled and cooperative. Mr. Perry is very responsive. He schedules jobs quickly and will explain what needs to be done. When we had a communication problem during his recent visit, he cheerfully negotiated a compromise that resolved the problem. Some recommendations: have your check book ready as Mr. Perry expects to be paid before the job is started; supervise the job yourself since Mr. Perry does not stay on the site; learn to say stop in Spanish if you think that the crew is cutting too much, the crew will stop and if you have difficulty explaining what you want, call Mr. Perry; recognize that your trees will look smaller than you expected, but they will grow back and will be in better health; decide ahead of time if you want firewood cut (be sure you have a place to stack it away from any wood frame building) or your want your branches to go into the chipper .
