New View Marble & Granite

The folks at New View are top notch. Communication was excellent, appointments were on-time, and the granite is beautiful. After visiting the showroom and obtaining a square foot price, I saw the same granite at a competitor's store for a couple dollars less and New View matched the price. They could also install it quicker. I highly recommend them.

Gilmar Lamas, one of the owners (and the team) at NewView Marble and Granite (Franklin, MA) went out of their way to make sure we got exactly what we wanted (yes we were very particular!). They was extremely helpful during the selection phase and offered to move every slab so we could see subtle variations and select the specific ones we wanted. They tapped out 2 different slabs so we could see exactly which color veins we were capturing after cutting the center island cooktop hole. 3) the installation was done very professionally and we are 100% satisfied and would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone. My only suggested is that Gilmar communicates the specific installation requirements and details better during face-to-face meetings vs. depending on telephone conversations. Their granite selection was not as large as some other shops, but if they have what you are looking for, their pricing is excellent and their job quality is A1. He even made me a beautiful matching cutting board that match the counters.

Good selection. Patient and walked us through options and questions. Very good work product. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

We did some extensive remodeling over the fall and winter or 2011/12 with a local small remodeler, so just getting around to do my reviews now. In order to cut costs, we decided to check out granite places for our counters in the kitchen and 3 baths because the remodeler only had much too high priced ones they used. After checking out the Better Business Bureau, we found New View Marble and Granite of Franklin to have a perfect rating, so we called them and made a visit to see them. We visited their small immaculate showroom and the yard of extensive granite and marble offerings. Gilmar and his staff were extremely attentive and patient with our needs. He explained that they are importers AND fabricators of marble and granite, so their costs are lower. They do not need to check around for stock and have many middlemen in the process, thus the high prices other granite places charge. Not only that, he prices right then and there...so no waiting for days! He also prices only what you need, not making you buy the entire slab. For this reason, he keeps an extensive remnant area for much less if one needs a smaller amount granite or marble. So, we chose the granite for the kitchen, he priced it and to our amazement....minimum of $3000 LESS than competitors....and a full kitchen backsplash at that, too! We contracted for the kitchen first and he put us on the list for when we called him to get the install started. In the meantime, our bathroom remodeling was getting underway, so I went back to contract for the granite bathroom counters. We chose remnants and he set them aside for us. When time came to get the kitchen granite first, they came down and measured exactly. The turnaround was only a few days at which they worked hard so we could have our kitchen done for the holidays! Amazing....and the WOW factor once installed was incredible! A few weeks later when our bathrooms were ready for New View, same with our three bathroom counters. I have to admit, the delivery and install staff was fantastic....professional, friendly, neat, accurate, careful, and everything else you could imagine from this PERFECT company! Gilmar and his staff are tops in our book and care about every customer that visits their business....from beginning to end...and we are extremely happy customers! Our remodeler saw the work and now refers HIS customers to New View, too! New View Marble and Granite also has a wonderful website and it's worth checking that out. I have also recommended this company to a friend who works in a kitchen section of a worldwide company nearby. We have received so many compliments on New View's granite work and people are stunned at the pricing, too. One can't go wrong with Gilmar and his company...hard working, honest, reputable, and reliable...simply stated...the BEST! We are so thrilled we found them, the best kept secret for all your granite and marble needs is out now and they are definitely worthy of an article in Angie's List magazine!

We visited the showroom on a Saturday afternoon after we received a flyer promoting an instock granite sale. We were shown all the selections that were on sale and picked out a color and options. Someone then came to our home to measure, and asked me a handful of questions that should have been documented. Then, someone came to make the molds, again, asking the same questions that should have been documented. At this point I am getting worried that the people in this company do not communicate. I then scheduled installation, and then was called and told that they had to change the date (with no reason as to why). I refused to change my date, and then I received a bill that was more than what was originally quoted. The end result was fantastic, but I am not sure I would recommend this company for the lack of communication.

They were very nice and helpful when I initially visited the showroom. And, they provided 3 granite samples for me to take home. They were consistently 20-30 minutes late for the initial appointment to measure the space; the second appointment to create the template; and the third and final installation appointment. They covered all walking surfaces during the installation. The installation took about an hour.

Gilmar, one of the partners of New View, was extremely professional and helpful throughout the process. My husband and I visited the fabrication site in Franklin (They also have a showroom in Wayland) many times over the course of the spring. We had difficulty deciding what granite we wanted to install, and Gilmar was infinitely patient in guiding us to a decision. He suggested that we visit a wholesaler in Braintree when they were having a sale, so we could look at more choices and examples of stone. When we finally made our decision, Gilmar came to our house and created the templates. He was very open to discussing details of each counter and made some very useful suggestions. Then he had the granite delivered to his site and we laid out exactly what part of each slab would be used for each counter. The installation was done within the week by very polite and competent men who left no mess. It is of note that part of the installation required placing granite around two pillars. They did a great job! Later, we decided to add a short back-splash and window sill as well as a small marble counter on a separate surface. Once again, Gilmar came to the house to measure and the installation was again flawless. We were especially happy that he had cut the granite so that it matched what had already been installed. We could not be happier with the outcome. The counters are beautiful.
