I had a terrific mortgage experience with Guaranteed Rate Mortgage. Joe DeMarco spent so much time walking me through my options and explaining each step of the process and all the numbers to me in great detail. I felt like I was Joe's only customer at times because he kept me updated on a regulat basis on the potential of floating down my rate during the rate lock period; which I was able to do. The other members of the Guaranteed Rate team constantly provided clear and organized information requests to get my loan through the approval and underwriting stages. Considering how stressful the home buying process can be, it was great to have such a great customer service experience with Joe DeMarco and the rest of the Guaanteed Rate team. I will recommend them to friends and family in the future.

My wife bought a 780 square foot condo in 2005 before we met, right before the market crashed. 3 kids later and we were bursting at the seams. We tried to sell but we owed about what it was worth and could not sell without draining our bank account and leaving ourselves with no deposit for a new home. I had 3 mortgage brokers tell me we did not have enough and quot;reservesand quot; in the bank to qualify to carry two mortgages under their strict new guidelines. We otherwise make enough money, have perfect credit and great job stability. But we were stuck and painfully watching the ship sale on great purchase prices/rates. Then we talked to Pete Doucette. He knew what the others did not: you can use 60% of your 401k as a reserve if it is large enough and vested and you otherwise qualify. His first question was the one no one else knew to ask. Now we're sitting in a 3330 square foot home that we bought on the cheap with a great rate in a farming community, laughing at the rising rates that used to make us cry, while renting out our condo until the market improves enough to sell it. AND we got $2,200 BACK at the closing, thanks in part to Pete's selfless, cost-saving advice along the way (which more than paid for their comparably tiny fee). Could not have worked out any better and if I had not talked with Pete, we'd still be stuck in that tiny condo. This was also my first purchase and I did not have the money to hire a lawyer. But Pete and the crew went above and beyond several times, helping me navigate the sometimes tricky landmines of purchasing a home. Guaranteed Rate turned our nightmare into our dreams and I can't overstate how great the experience was. Bravo!!

Sammy I at Guaranteed Rate was great on all fronts. Got us a great rate on our refinance and made the process very painless. Would definitely recommend for mortgages and refis.

We ended up going with a different lender because they had a very lucrative credit towards closing costs with my husband's employer. However, we would recommend Ilene to anyone looking for a lender. She is kind, responsive, smart, and will hold your hand through the process.

It was great! I got a rate well below most others I interviewed with guaranteed closing costs that actually were less than what he quoted. Although the process sometimes seemed endless, they made it effortless as they took care of all the details explaining everything along the way.
