I know customers often lend their voice when things don?t go well and are silent when things do. I?m feeling compelled to write about my impressions of Stone Inc. and they are really good ones.
I recently worked with Marc (the owner), Paulo (stone finisher and lead installer), John (scheduler) and Aaron (sales) to replace my Formica kitchen countertops with Quarzite. The overall square footage of the job was large and a bit complicated to get seams in the right places, cut around a wooden post and to maximize the layout on the slab.
From start to finish which included follow-up the project and the team gets five stars. Great selection of stone to choose from. High-quality. Courteous and professional staff. Skilled craftsmanship. Reasonable pricing. Attention to detail and customer needs. Numerous extra efforts. The customer references that I called told me the exactly the same thing.
I?ve recommended Stone Inc. to my friends and that?s the best testimonial of all.
p.s. A special callout to Paulo as he was one of the best craftsman I have ever worked with.
The day after installation was complete, I put a bottle of olive oil on the counter and it left a stain--a ring on the counter that didn't 't fade. I called immediately and George told me it wasn't possible that the granite had stained. He assured me that his MOTHER had this same stone and he wasn't able to stain it, no matter how hard he tried. They sent someone out to reseal the counters. (They hadn't been sealed before or after installation. I discovered this later.) This guy took a blow torch to the counters to clean up the stains that had developed since installation. He sealed the counters and told me to do this every three months or whenever I was expecting company. When I called George about this, he told me that was nonsense (the man was his employee) and that he had no idea why I was having this problem. I gave up.
It's a year later and the counters stain easily. I have to cover the areas near the stove and the sink where water and oil tend to stain.
George sold me porous granite and denied the predictable problems. He's an unethical businessman. Stay away!
