Re: Extremely Negative Customer ExperienceSouth Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC), 300 Howard St., Framingham, MA 01701, 508-620-2300 We had a gas heating system and air conditioner installed by Dempsey Oil/ProServices of 588 Pleasant St., Ste 4, Norwood, MA on 12/9/11 mandated by SMOC. They grossly mis-installed the system leaving gas leaking into our basement, open and nicked wires, improper wiring using non-code speaker wire instead of code electrical wire, illegal pierce valves and over amp wired the condenser for 60 amps when it can only take 25 amps setting it up for a fire, engine burnout and possible explosion. They never had the mandated state required licensed gas fitter plumber and/or licensed electrician on our installation as required by the town, state and per the applications pulled at the town offices. We had them back 5 times to attempt to correct and each time they sent unlicensed non-trained persons to do the licensed work. They left our furnace leaking gas for 3 ½ months with open wiring and nicked wires created a life-threatening possible explosion in our home. We had to make
They were paid $2875 by SMOC as part of a federal/state energy efficiency upgrade program and they are trying to charge us an additional $3943 on top of that when we had to spend over $4000 for 5 ? 500 mile round trips and almost 2 weeks of missed work to be there for 5 failed attempts to correct the failed installation that they still sent unlicensed persons on the service calls to try to correct what was supposed to be licensed installed work by licensed gas and electric workers. They should clear our account as the $4000 of expense which doesn?t even account for the illegal, dangerous, failed, mis-installation they put in our home that had to be completely un-installed and re-installed by another qualified program installer as well as the major inconvenience of having to come back to allow them to attempt to correct 5 times and still failed to do so. They also took advantage of a disabled, very ill with lung cancer woman on oxygen and in a wheel chair as well which is beyond reproach. Dempsey should not be allowed to do any unlicensed installations or work ever again and should be held accountable for their intentional harmful actions towards a disabled sick elderly woman who was too weak and ill to defend herself from their continued misdeeds.
We contacted SMOC and they promised to reimburse the 2nd good installer who completely uninstalled the failed Dempsey system and re-installed a new system. They also said they would contact Dempsey and help resole the $3943 of charges for add?l failed systems charges against our $4000+ for 5 ? 500 mile trips and almost 2 weeks of missed work without pay as well. Then SMOC reneged and refused to pay the 2nd installer and the $3943. We are simply asking for SMOC to do what they promised and pay the second installer the $2500 and contact Dempsey on the add?l $3494 against our $4000+ travel and lost work expenses for the 5 Dempsey failed add?l visits to correct.
