Pheasant Hill initially was contracted by us a few years ago to restore our front lawn, which was in very sad shape. They did an excellent job, and we subsequently retained them for annual maintenance. Recently (May 2023), however, when we asked them to help us redesign a portion of our back yard, they hesitated but then finally provided a proposal, which we accepted. Less than a week later, without explanation, we were contacted and told they would not be doing the job and our annual lawn service would be discontinued. Despite several attempts, no further communication or explanation was provided. We don't know if the business is now defunct or if they simply decided they no longer wanted our business. We would have been ok with any reasonable explanation, but the lack of communication is highly unprofessional and frustrating as we now need to find an alternative service provider mid-way through the lawncare season. Contract this company at your own risk.

Beyond expectations! Patient, professional, experienced, full of great ideas, super responsive. We were way out of our league on this one and Dean educated us every step of the way, especially with things we didn't know to ask. We needed to pull in irrigation and pool help and that magically happened. The guys worked crazy long hours in ridiculously hot conditions and ALWAYS greeted us with kind, genuine smiles. They left a meticulously clean job site each and every night. We have complete trust and confidence in Dean, his team, their expertise and highly recommend them!

What didn't we need done?! Long overdue project to remove and replace the 1960-something stone wall and cement decking around our pool. We're at the bottom of our neighborhood hill so we also tackled water and drainage issues. We now have a gorgeous new wall and expanded patio - can't wait to fill it with friends, family, love and laughter!

It went great. We hired them to do the work 3 years ago and are still working with them. Our lawn looks really great and the shrubs are providing different color all through the season. Right now they are mowing our lawn every week , applying fertilizer, pruning and keeping up to make our lawn look good. Dan and George are extremely professional. They arrived on time and always answered all of my questions. They are extremely responsible. All the workers that Dean hires are extremely hard workers. We have a problem with deer eating our shrubs in our backyard and they are figuring out a way to deter the deer. They also apply mosquito repellent which has been working great.

My grass was shot and I needed a complete replanting of my whole yard. I also wanted to plant some shrubs that would give me color all throughout the season. They also build a patio in our backyard.

I've been impressed with all the service received from Pheasant Hill. They are prompt, offer excellent service, courteous, professional, and willing to work with me whenever there is a question or concern about a particular aspect of the work performed. I highly recommend them.

Pheasant Hill Landscape has been caring for my 1/2-acre property for about two years now. Services have included: lawn mowing and maintenance, lawn treatments, sprinkler system adjustments, pruning all shrubs and plants, mulching, and Fall clean ups.

Turns out we need a full rehab of the grass so he didn't recommend starting a service at the time. He's going to contact me again in August for a quote on reseeding the lawn after killing the red sorrel.
Description of Work
Greg (?) came and took a look at our backyard to assess what could be done to reign in our red sorrel problem and in general improve the lawn's health.

Dean responded to my email immediately and scheduled a visit. He was punctual, friendly and had some good ideas. His proposal was provided quickly and it was quite thorough. Unfortunately his price was about 50% higher than the next quoted price, so we informed him that the work was being awarded to another.

Problem - A semi circular driveway that tends to be blocked off very often with city plowing at the end. I contacted Dean to see if he would be able to clear the end of the driveway (for the second time in the past two weeks, which he did the first time). The end of the driveway has no where to push the snow, so they brought in snowblowers to clear the area that the plow could not get through AND clear a wider area of the whole and upper driveway. I have used PHL (Dean and George) for almost 2 years for year round grounds keeping, seasonal cleaning, tree work, snow clearing. This year has been difficult for all. I am "essential health personnel" and need to be available. PHL has been very responsive for texts for help to clear my driveway, secondary clean up from the city plow and additional clearing. I get a return call within no more than 4 hours of contacting them directly. I recommend PHL with total confidence that they will be there for any of their customers.

Provider came out and met with me face to face to review strategies in terms of improving my lawn. Talked about options and the cost of these various options. Worked out a strategy that fit my budget and delivered the outcome i was looking for. Services were performed when they were supposed to, they always call the day before to confirm and they always show up. Professional and responsive and competitive in terms of price. Great experience.

Aerated and over seeded my lawn and applied fertilizer. Provider also provides ongoing lawn fertilizer and weed control. A responsive knowledgeable lawn care provider that knows what they are doing.

It was excellent. For them, it was great. They are very good. They were very flexible with me because I’ve been travelling quite a bit. They’ve been able to schedule and reschedule around me to come out and then while I was away, they were extremely reliable in terms of plowing and landscaping. Their pricing is right in line with everybody else. When they made appointments with me, they did show up to consult with me.

Everything went great. Dean sent over a team of 4 for a full day to clear the front, side and back yard of a newly purchased home. Nothing had been done at the property for over a year and it needed a LOT of work. The property was VERY well groomed by his team. Since that work was done last season I've continued to have PHL clear snow from the driveway and shovel paths. PHL continues to take care of the property this year. Will stay with Dean and George for a long time!

Only came out for an estimate. Owner (Dean) was prompt and courteous, I had called 2 other landscaping services prior and they never even showed up. Dean took the time to explain what he may do and gave me ideas about installing some shrubs and also raising the level of the soil for planting grass in the fall since ground had large and very old tree roots that could not be removed, but thought the price of the labor was too high and had to be added to the price of the materials he would use. Spoke with his partner George the next day who was also very courteous. Small company so easy to reach but prices a little over my budget so cannot give any reports on work done.

It's hard for me to tell if the condition of the lawn is because of what they do or because of good watering regimen. They are responsive and do what they say they are going to do, including paying for some irrigation damage caused by aeration. I've used the 2 national providers Tru Green and Scotts, and Pheasant Hill is superior in every way.
