Great job! Excellent communication, professional and reliable. Cartegiane showed up when he said he would or called if he was delayed. When Cartegiane came to give us a quote, we liked him immediately! Being polite and respectful goes a long way with us and his quote was reasonable so we hired him on the spot. On the day that he said he could start the job he showed up early and completed the job in one day! Cartegiane explained to us that he had reinforced the cement for strength and adjusted the slab to accommodate a nearby drain for future use. He also textured the slab so that it would not become a complete skating rink in the winter. We definitely would recommend to others and hope to have him complete additional projects in the future. Everything went great. Cartegiane communicated with us every step of the way. Some of the highlights: 1. He was ready to come a little earlier than we expected and after I had told him we weren't quite ready he even offered to help us move things. We didn't need for him to do that but it was nice of him to offer. 2. He kept us informed every step of the way, was great about texting to let us know when he'd be arriving and was always on time 3. He was meticulous. We basically took down a wall between a basement space and former garage space and there were areas of the floor that were over an inch off of level. He took 2 days just to make sure that things were prepped properly and made some level "blocks" that, once he filled in the new concrete up to totally leveled out the floor. 4. He knew we would be putting down laminate flooring over the floor so he didn't leave it "glass" smooth but that doesn't really matter since no one will ever see it and more importantly the floor will be level which was out main goal. 5. You could tell he really knew what he was talking about and he really thought out how he would tackle the project. In the end it took him an extra day but he stuck to the quote he gave. We've actually asked him to quote out some other projects we have as well.

Excellent! Cartegiane and his men are true professionals. Right from the start, he reviewed the work to be repaired on my front steps and provided an estimate via email. We scheduled the work. He came out with his men and started the repairs. They reset all the Bluestone treads, and skim coated the sides and risers. It took only 3 days and they did an A+ job. They worked all day, cleaned up the job site at the end of each day, and were polite and professional. I would definately hire them again, if I needed any future Masonry work.

Cartegiane and his team did an outstanding job replacing our old concrete steps and walkway with a beautiful flight of fieldstone stairs with bluestone treads and lovely paver walk. After I reached out to him, Cartegiane contacted me fairly quickly and came out to scout the site within a day or two. He sent me a proposal the next day which included options at two different price points, and then talked me through the options and trade-offs. I ended up choosing the slightly more expensive fieldstone option, and I'm so glad I did -- he matched the fieldstone to my existing foundation perfectly. Also, he was able to salvage much of the existing concrete stair structure, reducing demolition costs and project time. As for scheduling, I requested to put off the walkway project for a few months to spread out the investment (which he was happy to accommodate) and he was able to start the stairs within a week. The stairs took about a week to finish (minus the handrail, which was installed a week later to allow the concrete to set). Halfway through the stairs, I was so pleased with the way it looked that I asked if he could squeeze in the walkway, too -- and he did. He and his team removed the old walkway that day, and he brought by sample pavers the next morning. The new walkway was finished at the same time as the stairs! I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience with Cartegiane. He's professional, communicative, and worked with my budget. Most importantly, the craftsmanship is superb! The curb appeal of my house has increased dramatically (I included before and after photos of the project). I highly recommend him, and will definitely hire him again. In fact, I've already requested a quote to repoint my chimney, and plan on hiring him again next year to build a backyard patio.

Excellent! They were responsive, fast, professional, punctual and affordable. Their quote/cost was <50% of the other masons. They did the work just as we hoped and finished it off very professionally.

I can not speak highly enough of this contractor. He was responsive (even came out to give me a quote on a holiday), fit me into his tight schedule, gave me a good price AND after the work was done told me it went much quicker than anticipated, and he gave me a refund of some of the money. Has anyone ever heard of a contractor giving a refund because the job was quicker/easier than anticipated? The owner (Cartegian Santos) was the most polite, professional contractor I've encountered in a long time. We discussed the work needed, clearly indicating his experience with this work. He showed up on time for the estimate, texted the morning of the work to tell me when he was leaving and that he would be a little late because of traffic, went over the job again with me and his workers, and cleaned up thoroughly when the work was done. As stated above, he even contacted me the next day to offer a refund of a portion of the cost due to the job being quicker and easier than he estimated. If you EVER need any masonry work done, I strongly encourage using this contractor. I already told him that once I finish one side of the basement, I'll be calling him back to repair the walls on the opposite side! (In the 'before' picture, you can see the crumbling wall below the window; in the two 'after' pictures you can see that all the loose material was removed, and a parge coat of cement was placed over the whole damaged section of the wall)

We asked Masonry & More to install a new walkway from our driveway to our front door, as our old walkway was in very rough shape. We were very pleased with the result. We first obtained several quotes, and Cartegiane's quote was reasonable and competitive. He met with us and gave us a book from which to choose samples. He later dropped off a number of pavers for us to evaluate at our leisure. During this time, Cartegiane communicated with us effortlessly via email. Once we selected the pavers, we scheduled the installation. There were a few delays during the installation process. They may have been partly due to the weather. The installation was done in multiple phases over a period of 1-2 weeks, comprising numerous visits (deconstruction of the old walkway, leveling, laying crushed stone, pouring concrete, laying out and placing the pavers, adding the polymeric sand). Cartegiane and his team were extremely professional, and painstaking in their attention to detail. They spent hours laying out the pattern, consulting with us all along about little changes we might want to make. It was obvious that they took great pride in their work, both artistically, and with their precision. We really felt that we got our money's worth, considering the time invested, the level of care, and the multiple visits (probably about 7, all told). The walkway looks wonderful. There were a few minor issues. It turned out that a small section of asphalt unexpectedly needed to be cut and filled (which Cartegiane's team did) due to a gap where the walkway met the driveway at an angle, which perhaps could have been avoided with a layout adjustment (and considerable effort). And the poly sand was installed at an unfortunate time, just an hour before forecasted rain, which required that we put a tarp over the walkway to protect the sand. But Cartegiane even stopped by the next day to check that the rain had not caused any damage, which it hadn't. We were delighted with the service and our new front walk! We would not hesitate to use Masonry & More again for future projects.

Masonry and More remodeled our upstairs bathroom. They did such a great job and were so accommodating that we decided to remodel our downstairs bathroom. We couldn't be happier. Cartegiane, the owner, is an experienced contractor who is friendly, polite, and very flexible. His crew was always pleasant to have around and they were extremely good about cleaning up after themselves. When they made a small error in installing some decorative tile, they immediately corrected the problem with no push-back or complaints. I would highly recommend this company.

We have one of those massive 1960s style brick walls in a multi-level house. It had a two-sided fireplace. We put a wood insert in and needed to brick up the other side of it. The brick is irregular and distinct in color and style. Cartegiane matched it perfectly. We were thrilled with the quality of his work. He was fast and clean. He ended up finishing in less time than he thought he would, so he slightly lowered the price that he'd originally quoted to me.

Cartegiane and his crew did an excellent job, completely removing the bluestone treads and landing, cleaning the old (and very insufficient) mortar, properly securing them, and re-mortaring. Cartegiane was great to work with throughout the process. We spoke right away when I called to solicit a quote, came to look at the job within a couple days, gave me a quote within three days, and was nice and thoughtful throughout, scoping the job appropriately when he could have pushed for more to be done. Even though the job was small enough to lessen the appetite of other masons, Cartegiane priced the job for what it was (not a minimum charge like others), and he and his crew fit in completing the work within a couple of weeks. He also checked in afterwards to quality check the work and experience. All around, fantastic!

Initial communication was a bit haphazard - possibly a technology issue. But after we made contact, he came by at appointed time, provided a reasonable estimate, and did the job the following week. Crew was efficient, and cleaned up well. Good quality.

We were incredibly happy with every project that Cartegiane and his crew completed for us. And it's important to note that not only is all the work excellent, but also that Cartegiane is an absolutely lovely person -- as honest as they come (on one project our final bill was actually lower than the estimate), and he's always responsive, helpful and creative. I can't recommend him highly enough, and I'm only sorry that I'm out of projects (I think) for him to work on because it's actually fun to spend time with him (and his crew)! I promise that you won't be disappointed if you hire him for your next job . . .

We couldn't have asked for better quality, friendly and responsive service than what we received. Cartegaine is extremely skilled, easy to communicate with on a timely manner and the final price was exactly what his estimate was. We highly recommend his service and in-fact will have him back out to re-lay a bluestone patio which someone else did several years ago. I only wish other contractors were as good as he is. Hire he and the team with confidence knowing you are in good hands!

Cartegiane at Masonry and More was able to envision a new design for my driveway and retaining wall, and work with me to make it fit within my budget. They did great work but the best part was that he checked in along the way to make sure it was turning out the way I had intended. I have had neighbors stop in to tell me how much they like the new layout and stonework.
