Lourival Masonry

If you are lucky enough to have stumbled across finding Lourival and his crew than you should just hire him and call it a day! We spent months deciding on the pavers and materials and design of our project. Lourival was beyond patient with my indecisiveness and luckily still agreed to take the job! He is very professional, knowledgeable and skilled. His crew is also very professional, skilled and creative in on-site design and problem solving. They were invaluable to our project and I can honestly say that our paver patio and back stair landing would not be half as beautiful without their creative thinking and expertise. Lourival was instrumental in pitching water away from our foundation. We used to get puddles in our basement and have not had one drop of water since Lourival and his team expertly diverted the water away from the house. I truly wish I hadn’t delayed all spring and summer and had hired Lourival sooner! He completed the project at the end of August and did an incredibly beautiful job. Take our word for it that you will not be disappointed. Many thanks to Lourival and his team for everything. They are the very best!

First I would like to say Lourival was very responsive to all e-mail interactions, and provided estimates timely, and never seemed to mind when I altered the project on him 3 times! His prices were very competitive. He was very understanding and professional with my shortcomings as a customer. The project was scheduled quickly, and completed much faster than i anticipated. My staircase repairs came out excellent! My old retaining walls were leaning, ugly, poured concrete, and now I have beautiful keystone walls that add much needed appeal to my home. Lourival's employees were polite, professional, and extremely hard working! At the end of the project, he even placed fresh loam and seeded my lawn, a service which was not discussed and I was pleasantly surprised by! I absolutely recommend Lourival and his team to anyone looking for masonry services. I would have him back in a heartbeat.

From initial contact to finishing job all very professional. The crew arrived as scheduled on Monday and work was finished by Tuesday. The demolition to the installation of all was perfect and the outcome is beautiful. The overall experience was great and the work exceeded my expectations. I now have a fantastic walkway with gorgeous granite steps. I plan to do more work in 2019 and will definitely use Lourival Masonry

Lourival and his crew did an excellent job designing and installing the patio. Lourival designed a bell shape patio which looks fantastic and fits the contours of the backyard. He used lifetime guaranteed Unilock pavers and it was at a great price.

Great. Lourival and his team we super responsive and completed the work promptly. I had quoted it out to 3 different masons and he came back with the best price, which he promised he would. The work was professional quick and very friendly. I would happily hire them again for any projects I have.

Used the new Angie's List Snap Fix app to send out some pictures, a description, and get  quotes. Lourival came out promptly and delivered a quote in a timely manner. Estimate was considerably less than a larger firm who also estimated. Quote was detailed and complete--they addressed drainage needs, disposal, and even loam and re-seeding as their equipment would tear up the lawn. Approved the quote on a Tuesday and they started work on Thursday, with an estimate of three days. By Friday at 6 PM, they were done to my satisfaction. Work looks awesome and Lourival explained what they'd done. We are very happy with the results and would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them.

He did a fantastic job. I asked him to help me choose the materials to go with my home. He picked a beautiful brick and outlined it in a paver. The look is fantastic. I am so happy with the outcome!

Lourival returned my call and came over to review the job the same day.  I had had a bad time with another mason who did part of the job but then left the job unfinished!!! I'd been dealing with a half finished brick sidewalk for about 9 months, while going back and forth with the original mason!  Lourival discussed the job with me; he outlined all the components of the job and indicated that he would email a contract.  He also indicated he probably could perform the work in the following week, which was a great relief to me.  I got the contract and then a call that he could have a crew there on Wednesday (two days later).  The guys came on time and started working right away, pulling up the bricks, re-laying the base and using a landscaping material to prevent weed growth.  They created an edging that bound the sidewalk, integrated the walkway that juts off to driveway (perpendicular to the main walk) and graded the walk down at the street level so it doesn't rise above the street.  The whole walkway was in and completed by the end of the day!!!  It looks great and I'm so happy to have dealt with Lourival.  He and his team were professional and reliable. 

Lourival Masonry did an outstanding job on my paver walkway. I had used them in the past at my previous (historic) house and loved their brick work.
This time I asked them to recommend what would look good at my new house. They chose a fantastic paver (which I approved of ) and installed it beautifully.  Every time I come home I smile when I look at the great job they did. Maybe I could have had it done cheaper, but the QUALITY OF THEIR WORK IS OUTSTANDING!   And since pavers are something you want to last for decades, it's better to do it right. Lourival Masonry does it right!

My husband and I were very pleased with Lourival and his workers. They arrived when they said they would, they were courteous and professional and we paid the estimated price.  Were also very pleased with the quality of work.  We had bricks laid in both the front and back of our house. and were they happy with the workmanship.  We had a plan, but they made some recommendations and improve our project.  While the work wasn't cheap, the price was right on (I had two other estimates).  I would definitely use them again for a another project.

Lourival Masonry's work was excellent and it ended up looking quite attractive. He dug down and filled the area with stone. The people who work for Lourival Masonry are extremely hard working and efficient so the job didn't take long. We discussed what I wanted and they did exactly that. We are picking out stones for the driveway so we can call them back to do more work.

I called Lourival for an estimate for repointing our fieldstone basement which had actual holes and leaked like a sieve. He was also to put in 2 support columns in places where joists met and were unsupported leading to some plaster cracking on the first floor. He discussed what needed to be done and insisted that we pull a bldg permit for the columns, so there would be an official record of what was done. Though we had a tentative November start date, he ended up coming the week before Christmas. This helped us as we had to clean out the basement, cover up anything we didn't want cement dust on and allowed time  for us to fill in holes in the floor where radiator pipes came through. He had warned us about the potential dust problem, which really wasn't that bad, probably because we plugged the holes on his advice. A couple of weeks before he started a copy of his insurance arrived in the mail.
Once work started it went fast. He had 5 guys down there hacking out the loose mortar, and then repointing the field stone. Though the contract specified that we'd see field stone and mortar, but his crew ended up using 4 pallet loads of mortar to cover every inch of the basement walls. He let it dry over Christmas and came back and put two coats of waterproofing on.
One day drainpipe extensions appeared routing the water 5 to 10 feet away from our basement. These were not part of the contract, but in talking to Lourival about how to keep the basement drier, he felt they were essential. He did not charge for them.
Then while the waterproof paint was drying,  the rains came! and the basement still leaked, almost as much. The paint ran in some of the corners. We hadn't expected a really dry basement (based on our yard's geology and the nature of a fieldstone basement). He said to let it dry. He came back a week later to inspect it. By that time the snow was melting but the basement was dry. He repainted anything that needed it and did a little extra work behind a staircase that he originally said they'd skip. I insisted on it, because it looked damp in that corner. He did not charge extra for this.
So far so good. As we see whether the basement will stay dry, we considering some of the other measures he suggest to divert water away from the basement. He's a good guy and a pleasure to work with. I'd hire him again.

It was a pleasure to deal with Lourival.  Was there when promised and very easy to deal with.  (I paid him for time and material.  I had a lot of work done on the house previously and ran into some other contractors who after they won the job, constantly tried to do less work/substitute cheaper materials.  It was a total pleasure working with Lourival,  who did the job I wanted done.)

I was very pleased with Lourival. He was one of the few masonry contractors that happily would take on this difficult chimney work, and he was very competitive with his offer. He came promptly to do the estimate, and brought pictures of his work.

He was flexible with his schedule (and was therefore able to work with me on that) however, he did at one point forget to pre-notify me on the date that he was coming. He worked smart and fast, and took pictures of the job he performed close-up, for proof of performance. He sent me a bill as well, rather than sit there waiting for a check like so many contractors do.
