Jim is a good plumber, very knowledgable. He had to cut the pipes from the kitchen sink to get the new disposal to fit. He removed the old one and installed the new one with no problems. He also fixed a leaky pipe in the basement. It was easy to schedule a time and he showed up early and got the job done very quickly. Really nice guy to deal with. I would definitely call him again.

Jim came to our house to give an initial estimate. Because much of the piping running from our basement to our kitchen was concealed by a bulkhead, Jim suggested that we take down the bulkhead so he could have the information he needed to give a fair estimate. We had several plumbers come to give estimates, and we appreciated the fact that he didn't want to give an estimate until he had enough information to truly estimate the amount of work that was necessary. Other plumbers had given estimates without really seeing the gas lines in our house, so we didn't feel confident that the prices they quoted were in line with the amount of work that would ultimately need to be performed.
After we took down the bulkhead, Jim came back and gave us an estimate. He also described in detail all the work that the project would include. We scheduled a day for him to come install the stove, and everything went quite smoothly. Jim is very courteous and personable. Because the job was a bit simpler than he initially anticipated, he also gave us a small discount on the work performed; instead of paying $650 as his estimate called for, we only had to pay $600.

We had some kitchen updates perofrmed on our our home this Summer. The plumber that our contractor originally hired for the project only did the plumbing portion involved in the beginning of the update process. He then took off to a foreign country for months (so we were told) and the contractor tried to get us another plumber but apparently did not know of any others that would show up. We were without our kitchen for over two months for what were largely simple updates. We called Jim Kougeas on Monday morning and he picked up the phone. He had another job he was working on that day, but was understanding of the fact that we wanted to be able to use our kitchen, and he came over at 3pm as he said he would. He and his 'right hand man' Carlo did their work well, and were respectful and friendly. They finished their work in about 2.5 - 3 hours.

It went well! Jim was professional, punctual, courteous, and efficient.

It went very well. Because parts were not right or available Jim needed to make 3 visits. He was prompt and cheerful, and a very good communicator. He called every time to give an update on his arrival. He dealt with difficult issues like parts not fitting and funky old fixtures. Jim was calm and good natured about the challenges. He cleaned up very well.

He was very pleasant manner, extremely competent, and he was pleasure to have in the house. He was responsive and arrived on time.

Jim was able to come out quickly. He not only showed up on time, but gave a courtesy call to let us know he was on his way. He went right to the basement and looked over the whole mess of plumbing in our old house. I think that's a good idea with old houses. He diagnosed the problems very quickly, fixed everything perfectly and didn't up sell the job. Nice, honest businessman.

Jim is a really nice guy. He returned our call that day. He was very informative, patient and helpful. He showed me how we could do some things ourselves to save us some money and even walked me (a first time home buyer) through our basement and gave suggestions on things we could wait to replace or how we could maintain them to last longer and even gave me some suggestions for saving money through insulating some areas. I would definitely recommend him to a friend and use him for work again.

Mr. Kougeas returns calls within a day, is always prompt and a good guy to deal with. He performs quality work at a fair price.

Very pleased. The project went very well through all phases of the project(quote, install, insulation, town inspection). I paid exactly what was stated in the original quote. There were no hidden cost. Jim returns phone calls(all within 24 hours and more often then not within an hour or two). Jim showed up when he said he was going to and did what he said he was going to do. During the initial walk through for this project, Jim pointed out very specific areas(broken valves, poor insulation, etc.)where we were loosing steam/heat and by extension spending more $$ on oil. We had these items addressed and there is a much more even and consistent heat throughout the home. I have estimated about a 20%-25% reduction in oil consumption. Additionally, my heating system is a steam boiler that knocked and banged whenever the heating kicked-in. The noise was intense and disruptive. Jim advised that the original installation of some of the steam pipes were pitched at the wrong angle. Although not included in the original quote, Jim went ahead and adjusted the pitch at no additional charge. There is now absolutely no noise or banging from the steam pipes. Jim also advised that if we increased the water main size by a half inch we would not have water pressure issues when using multiple sources(shower, dishwasher, toilet, etc.). We had Jim increase the size and now there is consistent water pressure with no discernible variances. I will hire Jim again when I have another plumbing project.

He came out and fixed the leak. He did a good job, he was efficient and the price was great.

Kougeas Plumbing and Heating is incredible. They are an old fashion service provider. They provide service when you need it. I called at 7 p.m. on a Thursday night, and had heat by 11 p.m. the following evening.

They were somewhat late, but did call to tell us so. They were originally supposed to arrive in mid-afternoon but it was more like 5:30 pm; nevertheless, they finished the job that day, and it was a good job. Very satisfied, and the price was competitive with other plumbers I checked.

Very professional, prompt and friendly. Both times brought an assistant, which probably added to the cost of the work, but got it done quickly. Very happy with the quality of work and the whole experience. Definitely recommended.

The work was good. The price was a bit high. The plumber kept me informed, but things did grow from where we first started at, as to what was going to have to be done. This was most likely because this was an older house.

Jim is a fun, talkative guy who is great at what he does; very knowledgeable and professional. He even dealt with the plumbing store guy for me who was a total pain when I was trying to order our fixtures for the new bathroom.

He was punctual and very honest. The price he charged was reasonable, it wasn't too expensive. He was very helpful, and even gave me some feedback on what it would cost to do a remodel on the bathroom.

He was excellent. Showed up on time. Very patient with me and all my questions. I will definitely use him in the future. His fee was very reasonable.

It went well, I was relieved to find that we didn't have a huge plumbing problem. It was also nice to know that we weren't taken for an expensive ride!

They were fabulous. When we had a problem with the bathroom faucet, he came and looked at it and knew what it was right on the spot. He is wonderful and the service was great. They are easy to deal with and answer all of my questions. They are great.

Although the work was finally accomplished as per my request, it was as though I had to argue with him about everything. He came at 8:30 in the morning and was not clean. When I asked him to bend the brass rod to stop the toilet from running, he tried to get me to buy an entire new unit. He did finally do as I asked and everything works well now. His lack of professionalism and refusal to accommodate my wishes would prevent me from giving him a favorable referral.

They were very reasonably priced and I was satisfied with the service. They are easy to work with and I would recommend them to other people any time. They are a great company and work hard to answer all of your questions.
