KITCHEN AMERICA

We were visiting several kitchen remodeling companies to design the best plan for our kitchen. The owner of Kitchen America was very friendlly and positive in his showroom and offered to come to the house the same day as long as we gave him a $300 check for the designs he would do based on the measurements and our initial plans. We ( stupidly ) agreed and subsequently discovered that no other designer asked us for any money to submit initial plans ( most charge $300 only for the plans with specs on then... the designs are free. Oh, he also told us that $300 was his "special rate" and that he usually charges $2000! It was like pulling teeth to get the initial designs, which we eventually got after several assertive emails. His attitude was rude and defensive. Needless to say we found another designer who treated us very professionally... and without charging us $300 for designs.
