Vinton's Garage Doors & Openers

I was pleased with Vinton at the beginning. He did a great job and everything was done well. However, after less than 10 years the doors started to rot and fall apart. After discussing with Jeld-Wen (who manufactured the doors), Baker Construction (the contractor), and Vinton, everyone passed the buck and no one took any responsibility. The doors came in the correct color, so they appeared to require no painting. However, Jeld-Wen sent me a notice that they said should have appeared on the doors when I got them indicating that they must be painted on all 6 sides to last long and be under the warranty. Baker Construction said they were never told, Vinton said that he always tells the contractors, and Vinton also said that the wholesaler removes the important sticker from the doors. No one took responsibility for it, which is ridiculous. I would have paid to have the doors painted. We had spent much more putting up the doors, electrifying the garage, re-doing the roof, and siding the garage. We would not have balked over a few hundred dollars more to paint them. I was very pleased with Vinton and Baker construction until this happened and I have no respect for either of them now. They failed to stand behind their work.

Came ASAP when I wasn't home. Left pass door open. Repaired and done. Billed via mail. Couldn't have been easier or faster.

One of the springs on my garage door broke and was in need of repair. Vinton's was reccomended to me by a co-worker. My call was returned the next day and an appointment was setup for later that week. The night before Don left a message to confirm the next day's appointment. They arrived on time and after examinng the door and its workings went right to work. They ended up replacing both door springs and the wheels on the pulley mechanisms. They also greased and adjusted the door so that it is now working as smoothly as it has in years. I had checked with several other area garage door companies to have an idea of the cost and Vinton's was the least expensive of them all. Overall, very pleased with the service and experience.
