Rob at Astonishing Decks, LLC and his crew were great to work with from the first time we met Rob through the end of our project. Rob was great about communicating any updates throughout, and recommended a couple no cost changes as they started that ended up making the final porch look much better than the previous way it was built. The quality of the work was excellent. The crew started bright and early every day, and stayed on schedule in the midst of cold, snow, and rain in the winter.

Rob and his craftsmen were more concerned about how the deck was constructed and how it looked than I was, and I have spent my career managing construction! The foundation and framing were exceptionally sturdy, and the deck, railings and all details were done with care. Rob took the time to understand all the details we wanted, took us to see a similar deck, made sure drawings were correct, and everything was executed to plan. His crew is very professional. Communication was very good. The price was the best of my 4 bids. Highly recommend.

We used Astonishing Decks to replace our old deck with a new Trex deck. We were able to use the existing deck base, which was a savings. It was easy to work with Rob and he responded to all emails and questions promptly. The team arrived on time and the project was done as planned. The deck came out great.

Rob is a phenomenal contractor to work with from beginning to end. He helped us design our dream deck within our budget, and it is now the envy of the neighborhood. Rob is knowledgeable, experienced, and personable. His crew is top-notch. Rob carefully reviewed the Trex line of products and accessories, pointing out their pros and cons prior to us making a product choice. He identified unknowns that would not become clear until the existing deck was removed and how they might impact our agreed-upon price. He checked his crew's progress daily and kept us up-to-date on progress, issues, and what to expect next. His crew even removed a downed tree limb from one of our wind chimes and shoveled snow from the front porch (even though they were working on the back deck)! I would definitely hire Rob again and highly recommend him to anyone contemplating a new or renewed deck.

Rob and his team were very professional, timely, and produced great results with our deck replacement project. The quote and proposal process was very thorough so we knew exactly what we were paying for up front and how long the project would likely take. Cost was about 20% less than other crews in the Boston area. Would highly recommend.

Rob builds solid decks that go above and beyond building codes. His crew is highly knowledgeable in their trade and were a pleasure to have to have on my property. They show up every possible day and work an entire eight hour day. In addition, Rob is an engineer and holds a degree that many other contractors don't have. Rob Wilkinson doesn't "slap" up a deck, his decks are engineered down to the tiniest detail. Communication with Rob and his foreman and workers are daily and phone calls are returns immediately. I had my 18 year old 10x12 deck replaced by a Trek 12x20. I couldn't have asked for anymore than what he provided. Outstanding!

Our new deck has just been completed by this company and it is spectacular, we couldn't be more pleased. Rob (the owner) is an expert and his and his team's attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the deck. It is engineered well beyond requirements - so solid it feels like you're walking on concrete. Every one of our specifications were followed to a tee. Rob is super personable and a very knowledgeable engineer and deck designer. His crew is also very friendly and respectful, as well as skilled and efficient. I highly recommend Rob Wilkinson. He and his team built our trex deck in 2014 and we still love it each day today. We recently had an issue with the trex lighting system and Rob personally stopped by to troubleshoot (4 years after install!). He is very professional and takes a lot of pride in his work. We have done many home projects over the years and Rob has been by far the most professional and we love his work. The customer service from Rob and his team is excellent.

Rob and his team at RP Wilkinson Construction were incredible, from the first point of contact with Rob, to the final clean-up of the site when they were finished. Here are some of the reasons why: Responsiveness and Communication: When we initially called Rob for an estimate, he got back to us that same day. Throughout the process, he let us know exactly where they were at with the project. Thorough Estimate: Rob came over and performed a three hour estimate/consultation with us, free of charge. He left no rock unturned, telling us all of our different options (from a pressure treated wood deck to a Trex deck with all of the different options and colors that come with it) and the pros and cons of each. There was absolutely no pressure to up-sell, which leads to the next point: Complete Willingness to Work - and Stay - Within Our Budget: We told Rob what our budget was and he maximized the deck space within it. Quality of Construction: The deck was impeccably designed and built. His three man team worked their tails off every day. Mike, the "quarterback" of the team, has built hundreds of decks, to give you a sense of how much experience they have. Complete Satisfaction: After the final walk-through, Rob told us that if we later see something that doesn't look right, we should call him and he will come out and make it right. That gave us peace of mind. When the job was finished, their clean-up was so meticulous that there wasn't a trace that any construction had just been performed. They even took a Shop Vac to our yard to collect the remaining sawdust! And finally, Rob is a Genuinely Nice Guy: Here is an example. Somehow, we got to talking about how my basement has been flooding and Rob recommended a product to seal the crack in the wall. Then he even offered to buy a tube of the sealant from the hardware store that he had to buy some stuff from that day. Or, another example: there was a little space left over in the dumpster that they used to throw away the debris from the old deck. Rob asked us if we had anything that we wanted to throw away before they removed the dumpster. Acts of kindness like that really made an impression. I strongly recommend calling Rob for an estimate if you are thinking about building a new deck. We couldn't be happier.

Rob and his team were very professional and deeply knowledgeable about the Trex product. Rob was personable, very responsive (emails and calls were returned very quickly) and super detailed. He was also quite passionate about the Trex product and the quality he puts into his job for the customer His team was friendly, payed attention to details and provided great clean up of the site. They always checked in to see if we felt things were looking good and surprised us with some extra freebies (extra lights). Its not that often you run into contractors that are this great to work with and we would highly recommend RP Wilkinson and Rob and his team.

RP Wilkinson Construction did a fantastic job. Rob followed up with me immediately following my inquiry through Angie's list, scheduled time to review job a day or so later, provided me with a thorough design and estimate that evening. I had a couple of estimates and decided to go with Rob's company because he is a structural engineer and he his designs are sturdier and actually provided more deck space because his railings are constructed differently opening up about a foot of space on the new deck. Initially Rob told me he'd put me in his work queue and said he would not be able to get to me for a few weeks, and then contacted me a couple days later to say that he could squeeze me in due to a delay with another job. The crew, dumpster and materials showed up as promised in a very coordinated fashion. The work was completed over a couple of days, each day the crew cleaned up and organized the work space. The final deck is beautiful and very sturdy. One railing seemed bowed to me, it was not obvious, but Rob checked it out and the crew came back and fixed it the next day (they made time even though they started a new job). I love my new deck. I decided to go with Pressure treated wood since I was not ready to invest in Trex at this point in time since I will be moving in the year or so. I would definitely hire RP Wilkinson again, and probably go with Trex materials which is the company's specialty. They guarantee the work, educated me on care and maintenance and what to expect over time. I had a great experience and have complete confidence in recommending this company, they do quality work.

Rob and his crew were fantastic. He spent almost three hours with us going through design and materials options even before he knew he would get our business. He helped me better understand the most efficient use of space and materials so that we got the best bang for the buck. We opted to take a winter build date to save a little money and he actually ended up giving us a late-fall slot for the same price. Rob shepherded all the permits through the town office and provided a clear and concise description of the project scope, materials, timeline, and payment milestones. His crew hit their building milestones spot on even with several rain days in the mix. They also showed up bright and early the Monday after a hurricane! They were always courtesy and respectful of my wife, who works from home.Their work was meticulous and Rob checked all the work himself every couple days. We tacked on one option at the end of the project - full under deck screening. Rob and his team easily accommodated the request. They really went the extra mile framing the screening fully to match the contour of the lawn. It was certainly worth the extra money. On the final day, everything was cleaned up and the dumpster hauled away promptly. More importantly, the deck looked incredible! (See pictures) While Rob's prices are excellent for the high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail, the jury's out on whether the integrated Trex lighting is worth the additional cost. I'll wait until next summer to make the final evaluation, but it leans decorative (versus functional) for my tastes. That said, the decision to add the lighting package was mine and mine alone - Rob did not push it. The fact that its covered under the warranty is great. I will not hesitate to recommend RPW Construction to anyone looking to replace their deck, especially if they're considering Trex.

The very friendly team was courteous and explained everything in great detail. Deck was built in 3.5 days and much sooner than anticipated. Great experience with this company and it's workers!

We are very pleased with our Trex deck and with RP Wilkinson. Rob, the owner, was very easy to work with and we got great advice and quick turnaround. He helped in the design our deck, selection the materials/colors, getting the necessary approvals, and he delivered the final project ahead of schedule. The deck is well built and looks amazing.
