we had a problem with water pooling on the side of the yard which would in heavy rains raise the water table and cause my sump pump to go off. we wanted the yard lancscaped to pitch the water away from the house. we told brian caron we wanted a trench put in and he said it wan't necessary, he said if what he did did not fix the water problem he would come back and fix it for free. so we had him pull up the shrubs in the front yard, when he did i felt the foundation shake. i thought hmmmm' that doesn't sound good, but he's a professional and he must know what he's doing! we also had him regrade the pitch of the yard to redirect the water. well, we have more water problems now than we ever have. every time it rains the water runs right into our basement, which is finished. i called him and it took him several phone calls before he would return my call. i had him come over to show him the problem and he said he would fix it the following weekend. he did not show up. i called him some more. several phone calls later he told me he wanted to talk to me and to meet him at 4:00pm he never showed. several phone calls later.....he never answered or returned my calls. saw him at his shop and stopped in. he said he was all done.....that he wasn't going to help us. he said he didn't feel it was his fault we had water in the basement. he told us the water was running off our roof, that we have no gutters! we do have gutters! not only did he fail with the regrading he also brought us loom that was not capable of growing grass. we had it hydroseeded twice by delphinias (who said they would come back as many times as necessary but only came 2 times and then stopped returning our calls also) we had the soil tested by u-mass and the test showed the soil was lousy soil. then when he was paving the drive way we asked him for a roller to pack down the blacktop. he said he thought a tamper was good enough. we insisted on the roller and he said he would get it but we would have to pay extra for it. so he shows up to pave my drive way with himself and two other guys, one is a high school kid and the other is his special needs brother. we could see we were going to have a problem with the quality of the results so i had myself, my son and a couple of his friends help. we did the majority of the labor for the driveway and he had the nerve to yell at my kids for not moving fast enough! we told him we thought he should give us a discount on the labor because we did most of the work he flately refused. so we put a sign in our front yard saying caron const. takes your money and runs and someone called the police. they told me i need to get a sign permit. i went down to get the permit today and funny thing every one at the town hall knows about caron construction and to stay away from them. i wish i new that way back when. In the meantime the sign is in the back of my truck.
