We went to McCarthy's showroom and chose the flooring we wanted. Mark met with us to go over the size and shape of the floor and gave us a ballpark quote. Within a day or two McCarthy came to our house to measure and after seeing the actual floor, Mark called us and told us it would actually be less! Imaging that!
McCarthy was very flexible on the install date. We were in a bit of a hurry because we wanted it done before Christmas and we didn't start the process until mid December.
A few days after they measured the floor, we noticed some bubbles in our current floor (which has been in our house at least 20 years). This seemed odd so we called Mark to come take a look. Mark came by our house a couple times but we weren't home. He finally caught up to us about 7:00 the night before we were supposed to have the floor installed. After looking at the floor. Mark determined that we had a leak coming from our dishwasher. This had to be corrected before the floor was done. He rearranged the install date to a few days later. The next day, Jim came by to inspect the floor and check for damage. The damage was minimal but some additional prep was required which he did at that time. We installed our new dishwasher and the next day Jim came and installed the new floor.
Jim did a great job. The new floor looks fantastic. It took about 10 hours for the install. We had a complicated layout and there was a lot of cutting and fitting. Our floor actually covered three rooms: Kitchen, Bathroom and Breakfast Nook. Jim started about 9 AM and finished at 7 PM.
