MISKOVSKY LANDSCAPING INC

Paul Miskovsky is simply truly exceptional, and all my expectations were exceeded. Paul is not a landscaper, is an artist. He uses plants of different sizes and colors, earth, and stone to create the most amazing product, so pleasing to the eye. His art is in symbiosis with nature, using native plants and local stones. His products look like they have always been there, but Paul is the mastermind behind them. Roman Miskovsky has definitely his dad’s genes, the way he works with stone is unbelievable. He fabricates the most beautiful steps, they look like sculptures. Robby’s work with stone is amazing too, he built for me a firepit that puts every guest in awe. They are artists, and as you would not tell Picasso which color to use or what to paint, you should not micromanage Miskovsky Landscaping. Discuss with them what you would like done in your backyard and them let them create, even if they not completely follow your suggestions, you will be pleased with the final product because they know which color to use or what to paint. So if you want a painting by an unknown artist, yes please go to the other landscaping company in town, but if you want a Picasso go to Paul. I recommend him in the strongest possible terms. VERY POORLY:
   1. It took over 6 months when job was supposed to take 6 weeks.
     Workers appeared sporadically and worked short days.
     I had to repeatedly call and meet with Mr. Miskovsky to get work done.
   2.  Mr. Miskovsky did not do what he said he was going to do on several aspects of the job.
    This resulted in the need to hold back money at the end of the job to have others complete the work properly. 
     There were multiple integrity issues never encountered with other professionals over 2 new home projects.
3. Mr. Miskovsky contracted for a good portion of the fees up front then lagged far behind on doing the job.
     At the end of the job it was obvious he was taking several short cuts to save money.  Additionally, he did not pay 2 honest subcontractors despite having been paid for about 90% of the job himself.  I ended paying these folks so  they wouldn't be short changed.  DO NOT FRONT THIS MAN  MONEY. Should you ignore this evaluation and engage his services, I would STRONGLY recommend  YOU draw  up a very precise contract with progress payments closely tied to work completed, not work promised.
4. Personal Responsibility was completely absent
     There was never any personal responsibility taken by Mr. Miskovsky for any of the problems that arose. Everything was always someone else's fault. In fact, based on my experience with him I suspect he will respond to this analysis by finding a way to blame me or others.
      It's really a shame because I believe that Mr. Miskovsky has obvious talents and genuinely likes his work, but the overall experience was so poor and I would not be able to recommend him to anyone in the future. .

      I was hesitant to write this as it's not my style to be critical in a public forum. However,  since I found him on Angie's list I don't wish for someone else to repeat my mistake.

Sue and I bought a house in Falmouth last July, and hope to enjoy it on weekends for the next few years as we ease into retirement. While the house was exactly what we wanted, the back yard was a bit of a wasteland. We hired a company to put in a pool, and looked around for a landscaper who could transform the backyard into an oasis. 
After talking to a few different landscapers, we ran across Paul?s website, which looked intriguing. Sue gave him a call, and that afternoon Paul stopped by and introduced himself.  I told him we wanted an oasis, but within my budget.  Paul took us on a tour of a few properties he had done, and created a proposal for us.  While the proposal did not diagram every tree, rock, plant, etc. Paul did give us a general idea of what he had in mind, and all the specifics of what everything would cost.   Having seen the artistry in Paul?s work during the tour, I trusted that he would be able to achieve what we were looking for.
And boy, did he ever!  As I was lounging around the pool a few weeks ago, and looking around ? every direction is a work of art.  And it all looks like it?s been there forever.  I wouldn?t change a thing. 
It has been great working with Paul and his team, as they are all very nice.  The project was done in the timeframe I had in mind, and Paul showed up when he said he would.  No problem returning calls, texts, or emails.  An overall excellent experience.

They were on time.  They did a lot.  The people working for the company were really nice and really polite.  They did a really good job.  They did what they said they were going to do.  It was huge.  It came out really great.  They were amazing.  I have never seen anybody do work like they did and come in the way they did either.
