It went wonderfully.
Richard and his crew (we met Buck and Richard, his son) were extremely professional, knowledgeable, willing to work to solve challenges, skilled, and a delight to have in our home.
Richard helped us to select both the type of flooring and the style (floating vs. nailed) to resolve our problem with our prior floor.
Our prior floor felt like a trampoline and the boards did not fit tightly together. (We could feel our cats bouncing the floor from across the room). He and his crew ensured that the subfloor was tight to the joists, that the joists were properly made (they were), and that the new floor was not too tight, nor too loose.
I should note that Richard did not set the price, though I found it reasonable for the work done and the quality of the wood (this was in a very big room). We bought the floor through a company and Richard was the installer. However, it did not make sense to rate the company, as they hire out to installers, and the great work done was performed by Richard and crew. We'll be going with him directly for our future flooring needs.
To put it succinctly: We felt our floor was installed by someone who genuinely cares about his work and who treated the job with as much importance as if it was done in his own home.
