DLS Removal Landscaping and Construction

We bought an attached single family in Harvard Square, Cambridge, with a small back and side yard that was overgrown with weeds. Parts of the yard were also covered with very old chipped bricks that were moss-covered themselves. It was a messy state. I called up several landscaping companies to explain what I wanted - remove the weeds with their roots, and put in a walkway connecting the back and side yards, and add a border to the flower beds. Of all the companies I interviewed, I was most impressed with DLS removal. Leo came prepared and full of ideas with his book of paver colors and patterns. He patiently listened to what I wanted, even offered several valuable suggestions on the design, which eventually improved the final look of the project. Mostly importantly, he understood we were on a budget and offered money-saving options that would make the entire project cost fit into our budget, for example, he was forthcoming about stone wall edging would more cost than wood edging without adding more value to the look of our contemporary themed house and yard.
For the yard cleanup, Leo and his assistant Jamie, were very thorough - they litterally uprooted all the weeds in 1 day and did a fine job of cleaning up! My husband thought that our yard suddenly looked larger than it had been!
For the walkway, Leo and his team put in holland stone pavers - he gave us the choice of colors and cost options, as well as pattern choices. He was upfront about certain colors and patterns costing more, and I appreciated him being honest since we like having choices and knowing beforehand how much extra they cost. Leo was never pushy about any of these decisions. It was a very positive experience - we felt like were were part of his team working together to transform this yard into a work of art. Leo put in the herringbone pattern for us and added a slight grade for the water to flow away from the house. His guys put in the wooden edging borders for us - they did extra work by swapping out rotten pieces of wood on some of the old borders at no charge. To complete the project, he and his guys also helped me plant a couple trees and shrubs. Lastly, he cleaned up what he promised to take away, including rotten pieces of wood, and other debris left over from cutting the pavers.
My husband and I are very pleased with how our back and side yards look now, and would totally recommend Leo and his company to others. Our yard look every inch of a compact city garden now. Leo is very talented in landscape design and has many valuable suggestions, and he has the patience to work with you until you are satisfied with the design! His guys were always polite and helpful during the time they worked in our yard. Two thumbs up!
