Derek Lochiatto Electric

After having a positive experience with Derek a year ago for some projects, I hired him again. These tasks included diagnosing why the basement lights failed (needed a new switch), figuring out why the doorbells stopped working (blown transformer) and installing a new with a motion detector switch in the back hall of the house. Derek is very prompt to reply and is very accurate with his estimates. I highly recommend his services. The price listed for this review includes over 3 hours of work plus materials.

Great! Would hire again

I talked with 2 other electricians who said it was not possible to run a wire from my basement to the back of my house for my 240v ev charger. Derrick not only was able to run the wire and install the charger, but did it cheaper then other electrician quoted me for running a wire to the front of the house (much closer) and installing the charger. Definitely would use again.

Work was done in a timely manner and at a reasonable cost. The scope had to be changed slightly which required buying cords and adapters in the middle of the project. The contractor was able to provide us with what we needed next day. Very polite and professional.

He was here for about 3 hours was on time and cleaned up. We are very happy with the work and will certainly hire him again. Also a couple of staff people will be hiring him for forth coming personal work.

The hot tub company called the morning of delivery and said they could not make it, but Derek was already on the way. When Derek arrived, he checked out the 14-year old wiring and breaker. As he expected, it needed to be replaced. He actually came back in a few days and did the prep work. When the hot tub company showed up Derek was at my house already. We had some extra work to do and the hot tub guys took longer than expected with the install. Derek did charge more than the original estimate., but with the extra hours he could have charged much more. If you need a punctual electrician who knows his stuff and charges a fair price, call Derek.

Derek showed up on time and was off and running very quickly. I really appreciated his honesty up front about which would be the difficult things to accomplish when he came out to give the estimate and it's clear he really knows his business!!! Overall, the work that I had done took all day and the final price came in at under the estimate because he was able to move through the outlet install faster. Derek is honest, fair, punctual and really talented. I would not hesitate to hire him again.

Derek was very responsive to our inquiry, he came out the following Saturday morning and he was right on time. From having dealt with many contractors...I know this is rare! Derek listened to our "wish list" then he made recommendations of how he could make it happen. Our house is over 100 years old so making upgrades is always a challenge but Derek was experienced and confident in his ability. I originally wanted recessed lights in the stairway of our basement but since the ceiling is under the stairs Derek suggested 1" low profile LED lights that fit in the ceiling space perfectly. He provided all the materials, cleaned up and went over his work with my husband and I to ensure we were happy. I can't wait for him to install our lamp post and I'm sure we will have many jobs for him in the future. I am happy to say we officially "have an electrician"!

We received and called Derek on a referral; it has been the best choice I ever made. Derek was fantastic. I am glad to have met him and to be able to have the comfort in knowing that I have a great electrician that I can contact for all of my electrical needs. I have told anyone that will listen at this point that if they need a great electrician Derek is their guy.

Derek was punctual and practically ran as he was going between the kitchen and his van. He didn't waste any time. He also let us know that the placement of the outlet was not to code, which might have made is job a little harder, but he found an easy and safe work around. We had a light that wasn't working in the mudroom which he took a look at and diagnosed at no additional cost. He was courteous and took the time to leave the area as he had found it. We will call Derek for all future electronic repairs! Not least of which is because he came on his day off!

The work progressed very smoothly and was completed on time and on budget. We were even able to have him back the following week to complete some additional tasks (replacing all the light fixtures).
