Currently serving the Northshore. Over 20yrs of service. Sweeps, inspections, rip down/rebuilds, cut/point, to a simple brick replacements. Resolving major/minor water issues. For $158.00 all sweeps come with a complete written inspection, report of interior and exterior chimney/Heating systems. Sweeps are performed with the removal of damper(when applicable) for complete access to smoke chamber , firebox and smoke shelf. We are CSIA & NORA certified! Also perform stainless steel liner installations And terra-cotta flue Tile replacements. Chimney restorations, preventative maintenance for the longevity of the Chimney. Installation of stainless steel chimney caps, which are fabricated to size For each individual Chimney crown. Lifetime warranty on all Chimney caps! Also resolve major/Minor draft issues.

Mike Alterio the owner of this company, took a 4,350 dollar deposit from my wife and I, postponed the job four times, and will not return our money. He is running a scam. He also operates under the name "MJ Masonry." If you look it up under Homeadvisor, there are numerous complaints about this guy, doing the same thing to other customers. He's now listing some profile of a woman named "Jen I.," as the "owner." Don't be fooled by this! It's the same people running this criminal operation. We're currently having Michael investigated by the authorities, for fraud, and he will soon be in court. AVOID both Cornerstone Chimney, and MJ Masonry!

spoke with Michael Alterio on May 16th first encounter, cleaned vacuumed Chimney (200$) paid in full comple. Then discussed repair ,liner for Chimney quoted( 4500$) of which 2250 which was asked for up-front, Also discussed doing back stairs quoted (4200) of which half was asked for (2100) Check # for both are 703 dated 5/17/2025 & 706 dated 5/23/2025 and both cashed .

Cornerstone came out to do a fireplace sweep/inspection. They were very clean and thorough. Explain to us that you do not necessarily need a Sweep every year. and to base your Sweeps per 1 cord of wood as a watermark . Now we burn a cord of wood every 2 to 3 years.They were very knowledgeable and honest. other companies that have been out here have persisted that we need to have a Sweep performed every year. Which we now know is not the truth, but in oversell. I will not use another company ever again, but will remain with Cornerstone from this point in into the future

Cornerstone came out did a sweep/ inspection. exterior chimney was in rough shape. Loose bricks on roof.they rebuilt top of chimney, new crown and fabricated to size appropriate chimney cap. Restored remainder of exterior chimney for a complete match. Gave me a five year warranty. They were on time and inexpensive. Fast and efficient,professional ,knowledgeable well mannered. Completely cleaned up after themselves. Couldn’t ask for a better result.
