Mayer tree service was recommended by my landscaper to take down and prune out trees in my back yard which were overgrown and becoming dangerous by losing large limbs during storms. One phone call, one estimate and one scheduled work date. I can not say enough about the crew that showed up to perform the work! They were polite, professional and highly experienced! They took extreme care on my property not to damage my lawn or their surrounding work area. When they left they cleaned up like they were never there. Extremely satisfied and I highly recommend them!!

I had a really tough one. Big oak tree in back yard, on slope, threatening my house -- with valuable landscaping under it. Too far from the street for a crane. Plus two more trees. Most people wouldn't even quote the job. Mayer was the only one who did that I thought I could trust. They were amazing. They did the whole job by climbing and cutting with a chainsaw, and the crew underneath made sure the damage to the property was minimal. Left the site cleaner than they found it. Not the cheapest estimate, but I trusted them more than the cheaper guys. I was glad I picked them -- they saved my house, I'm sure of it. And a friendly and polite crew. A+ work.

Work was booked in September. Work did not get done until early December and just before a storm that left trees covered with ice. Although the initial work done was satisfactory, the follow up was poor resulting in severe damage to a major tree and surrounding items. While doing the work the crew noticed a stress fracture in a very large limb and told me it needed to be removed. I asked them to do it immediately but was told they had another job to get to but they would consider it an emergency and get back to me right away. After a week without hearing from them we had an ice storm that took down the fractured limb as well as two large limbs below it, leaving the detritus straddling my fence and covering my whole yard. I called again and they came out quickly to look at it. Again told me it was considered an emergency and would get on it quickly. I had to follow up again for a quote, and then again never heard back when I asked what their schedule was. In desperation I turned to a more local provider and got almost immediate service at nearly half the price quoted by Mayer. I understand Mayer is a big provider with contracts with cities and utilities, but their overall lack of responsiveness resulted in much more damage to the tree (a 100 year old copper beech) than was necessary.

A large piece of an oak tree fell on my mother-in-law's house after dark. Mayer Tree was there at 7:30 the next morning, which happened to be a holiday (Labor Day). They removed the broken tree from the roof, raked up the pieces from the yard, and helped cover the damaged roof with a tarp. These guys go above and beyond. I wholeheartedly recommend Mayer Tree Service.

It went great. Job took 5 hours, large crane, trucks and chipper were brought in and took trees right over the buildings. Trees taken out, yard cleaned up thoroughly.

I would recommend this tree service company to any one..they were very professional ..had all the tools they needed to complete job. When the job was complete they even cleaned up my neighbors yard. Was very nice to sister when she tried to tell them how to do their job. Drop the branches down with rope so no one was hurt.

It went very well. They came on time, did their work, and did not leave any debris. They were courteous and professional.

We were very pleased with the service. They showed up when they were scheduled to and in 2hours you wouldn't even know that they had been here.  The clean up was great. This is a well run company and I would use them again and certainly recommend Mayer if you need to have trees removed.

We had branch overgrowth cut back all along the edge of our house where branches were starting to hang over our roof.  They were prompt in their communications and scheduling, gave a fair quote and I was very satisfied with the work that was done as well as the cleanup.

A tree broke and fell onto another tree in my back yard. Need it removed before it fell on my house and wanted an opinion on other trees in the area. Requested an estimate on their website. Very promptly received a reply and someone was out the next day to take a look and recommend what should be done. Also asked for a pine log to be removed that had been lying on my property for a while. The quote seemed very reasonable, so I signed. A crew came out 4 days later to do most of the job. They came back to remove the pine log a couple weeks later which was fine with me. I was not home either time.

It was fine. They have a crew that knows what they are doing. They know about trees. They are expensive but usually worth it.

The job went very well.  we got an estimate in October 2012, but didn't get around to hiring anyone until September 2013.  They still honored their original estimate price, and additionally took off another 5% when I told them I had used Angie's list to find them.  The gentleman, Rich, who was both the original sales rep, and returned to our home the second time, was very professional, and seemed to know the business very well.  From start to finish, all went as planned.  We signed the contract, they gave us a date, which was very prompt. The work was done, cleaned up in one day, all done perfectly as described.  Everyone with the company was courteous, professional and helpful, as well as being very nice.   We were very happy with the work, and the price was fair. It was a difficult job, a very large (dying) tree in between two houses.  I highly recommend this company.

It was a fabulous deal and they did a great job. He was definitely within his estimate, he was quick and professional, and did more than what I expected. It was to go up in high trees and take some branches off that were close to a couple of wires and also to prune other pine trees that I have.

They did an excellent job. They communicated their schedule in advance, showed up on time, and had the trees cut down and removed within a couple of hours. They were professional, cleaned up after themselves, and it was a well-organized process. They also gave my neighbor and me a discount for contracting the work together.

I had called tree service to prune some dangerously close tree branches
over my roof.    The service itself was quite professional and did their
job,  but the time since the sales person gave us the estimate and when
the actual job was done was too much.  The sales person gave us an
estimate about 2 months back and the service was done now,.   I had
actually forgotten about this unti the service guys called up.   However
I am pleased with the results and the service guys were quite courteous
and cleaned up quite good after the work.   I would recommend them
again,  however would like them to fix the time gap between the
estimates and the job dates to a narrow time frame to be more relevant.

Everything went very well. The crew was very prompt, professional and took the time to clean up everything after themselves. They even took down a branch on the sugar maple that was not in the orginal estimate per my request.
