*Missed clearly visible mold costing me thousands*Let me start with I am a real estate agent of 20+ years and use plenty of home inspectors for my real estate transactions. I used Alan to do a home inspection in July 2020 on a house(Built in 2011) I bought for my own family on Cape Cod in Mashpee as my primary residence. I happened to be on vacation and it was during the pandemic but he was kind enough to do the inspection without me present. I recently (December 2020) had mass save out and they saw alerted me of the mold in my attic. I asked both mold remediation companies who I hired to come out could this have not been present in July and they both said this much mold was absolutely present in July when you bought the house. It was even clear as day in the pictures that Alan took on the day of his inspection that mold was present in his own pictures. Due to him missing this it is going to cost me thousands of dollars to remediate. I do not recommend using him, after this clear mistake of missing such a large item like mold. I wouldn’t want any of my clients to have someone clearly miss a large mold issue or something else. I posted his own picture below showing the mold, and saying it’s properly ventilated with no mention of mold. I’ll also post it on other sites that might allow pictures. Stay away and choose another more thorough home inspector!
