Hearing horror stories about contractors I really took my time to search out the right one. Fantastic people to deal with. Right from the start with there input on several projects of mine. Always showed up when they said they would, and my projects came in on time. Two of the major problems with contractors. I can’t say enough about this company and highly recommend them

We have been dealing with this company for over 20 years. Our house was built by John, and also an extension. The work is beyond fantastic! Now my daughter has a house on the Cape too ( as we reside in NY) and John (the owner) has done work there too! We call him for almost all our needs, and he is always helpful and caring, and very good at what he does. I totally recommend Northstar Construction!

Just joined and want to review Northstar and John Desangro.  John is from my hometown of Norwood and built a 5 bedroom home in Falmouth with a deadline of our marriage day five months away.  He finished on time and threw in some extras that we wanted (like a wood burning fireplace instead of gas) at no cost.  Our best memory of the experience was the communication.  He answered the phone and my questions each time I called. 
The finished product is terrific.  John over the years still takes my calls to recommend service people and has come himself on more than one occasion.  Comparing my property to others, we feel we got a great price for great craftmanship and were genuinly happy with a process of building a house that many others complain about.  I recommend John and Northstar without reservation.

Northstar Construction were very professional and I was very happy with the outcome.  Due to this, I have hired Northstar for many other projects around my home since then.  My favorite thing about working with Northstar is that they are very responsive, and are good with follow up.  I would recommend Northstar Construction to anyone looking for any type of home construction or project. 

From the beginning, we knew Northstar far exceeded expectations.  We solicited bids to complete the construction of the house from several contractors.  Northstar distinguished themselves from the others from the get go.  They submitted a bid with extensive details (and related costs) of  elements of the construction with related time lines.  Not only did they solicit our ideas our ideas on various facets of the construction, they incorporated into the bid details items we might want to consider (with related pricing) from their experience in doing jobs like ours.  They were very responsive to our questions on aspects of their bid.  By having such details and costs, Nolrthstar's bid enabled us to ask question of other bidders about details of construction not explained in the bids of others.  To make their bid comprehensive, Northstar included many allowances for things needed for the completion (appliances, tile, hardwood floors, electrical fixtures, plumbing, etc.)  By having scoped out the allowances for these items, we would know right away the financial impact of buying higher or lower quality items for which there was an allowance.  By detailing the allowances, we had, from the beginning, a very close idea of what the total cost of completion was going to be.  Dana Wessell had the lead on our project.  However, his partner, John Desangro, was heavily involved in our project as well.  When it came to the evaluation of the bids, it was a pretty easy decision.  Northstar distinguished itself by total cost, delineation of what was in their bid, responsiveness to our questions, visits to other jobs they had completed, clear definition of start and finish time, defined payment schedule based on meeting milestones and their "can do" attitude.  They managed the subcontractors (plumbing, electrical, tile, painters, etc.)  such that somebody was always working on our project.  And when practical, several non-interfering contractors were working at once.  They managed the critical path items in an efficient manner and they would explain to us why construction proceeded as it did.  During the construction, on occasion we noted certain items were not developing  exactly we had envisioned them.  For example, we noted the tongue and groove bead board panelling in one of the bathrooms was not what we had envisioned (even though we picked it), we told  Northstar.  Northstar, with no muss and fuss, fixed it to our liking.  Northstar indicated that their process was a "No Surprises" one and we had no surprises as a result of straight forward communication.  
On the  personal side, we enjoyed working with Northstar.  The Nprthstar folks and their contractors were all quite personable, but always professional.  For the reasons above and many others not detailed here, we would recommend Northstar without any hesitation what so ever.
