My mother lives nearby and I also arranged it for Tom to do some work on her house built in 1970. He replaced cedar siding on the wind-exposed side of her house, replaced most of the rotting downstairs windows with Anderson 400 Series windows, found some problem areas inside the window frames, and quickly cleaned them up. My mother is 86 and she said Tom and his workers were very respectful and professional with her; she felt comfortable with the workers in her house and they did the work quickly and expertly. Her house now looks great as well.
I shopped around for a contractor in Falmouth and was surprised at the huge range for prices obtained for the window replacements, as well as painting. I also found these other contractors were mostly one dimensional and could not take care of the range of problems I had and would not touch the small problems. The big boys like Home Depot or other national chains were much higher priced and provided an inferior product...also just did the windows. I went to Falmouth Lumber, had a good experience there, purchased the windows, doors and trim boards myself (no added charges by the contractor), and Tom Ginn took care of the rest. He arranged delivery from Falmouth Lumber. He worked well with their salesman and has a strong relationship with Falmouth Lumber. He came highly recommended by them. Importantly to me, there were no added costs as the work proceeded; Tom stuck to his quote on each item and on one item he even reduced his quote because the work he thought might be needed was not. I found that refreshing, a contractor who was very honest and charged a fair price for the work he completed.
I would recommend Ginn Construction and Tom to anyone doing window or door replacements and other carpentry repairs. Tom and his workers will do the work well. Tom does most of the work himself and has a great deal of expertise and pride in his work.
