De'Angele Landscape

The installation crew was very professional, hard working, and completed a beautiful job in 3 days. We are incredibly happy with the overall outcome. However, my issue lies with the business team and their lack of communication and negligence of customer requests. In my email discussing the project details, I said I wanted "the privacy with scalloped picket top in white with gothic caps." I also said that I didn't see latch options for gates, but that I wanted handles. I received the quote quickly after, and didn't catch that the picket top was not included in the quote. I didn't see handles either, but was informed it came with the gates so I didn't question. We spoke with our neighbors and all but one were ok with installation. He refused to allow us to remove his rusted and broken fence, which meant we lost a few feet of our property as we had to move in front of the tree line that bordered his fence on our side. This also meant the installation cost would decrease because they were now only removing one less section of fence (it was confirmed this would be the case if a neighbor refused during the quote process). They confirmed the installation date quickly, but I asked for the updated quote several times over the next week and a half. There were sometimes days between replies and all I got was a few, we'll send it shortly's, and an email confirmation after my fourth request that the cost would be $150 less. Installation went smoothly, until I saw that flat caps were installed instead of the gothic caps I requested. I checked my quote and saw that gothic was listed, and that's when I noticed that the picket top I requested in my details email was missing from the quote. I asked the installation crew and they informed me there was no picket top and that they were told flat caps were needed. I then noticed that there were no handles on the gates. At this point I was fed up with the office because of the horrible communication from them I'd already experienced, and called the quote guy. He picked up right away and informed me that handles were not included (which is not was I was told, nor did he bother to mention when I specifically requested them in my original email). He said that they could, however, put them on without issue and that he would personally inspect in the morning at 9. The next day he showed an hour and a half late for our appointment (for an emergency I was told, but it's yet another point where there wasn't any communication informing me of that until I called him). Upon our discussion, he said someone would come by Thursday to add the missing handles and to fix a post placement. I informed him I was happy with the look of the fence and that we could keep the caps and the scalloped only with no picket, but the point was that what I originally requested was ignored. Imagine if I'd been a customer who wasn't happier with what was installed vs. what I'd chosen? It would have been an absolute nightmare to fix, especially with the communication issues I'd already been having. He played if off that it was fate that this particular fence happened to be in stock because now they were several weeks out for other fence styles. Not the point, but I let it go. Thursday came and I received no confirmation as to a time someone would come. I called the twice, then finally got a response saying someone would come at noon. Noon came, then an hour and a half later I called to get an update. No response. I called a few more times over the next few hours (I did leave a voicemail as well). Still no response. After 5 hours I sent an email stating I would escalate the situation if the lack of communication continued, and that I STILL hadn't received a document with the new pricing. Within a few minutes someone responded that they'd be there at 6:30 and hoped I understood that the rain is what held them up. I understood how the rain could delay the installation crew, but do not understand how the rain excuses the people at the office who are indoors. They could have provided an updated ETA, but didn't until I threatened escalation. Because of their quick response after I'd done that, this tells me that they'd been seeing my calls and just ignoring them. The crew came at 6:30 and added the handles and fixed the post. I inspected and thanked the crew and the job was completed. Again, this review has NOTHING to do with the installation crew and the work they did. We've gotten so many compliments from neighbors on it and we love it. It has everything to do with the unprofessionalism of the office staff. So if you hire, be prepared for that.

Great work, they moved quickly once we paid a deposit and finished quicker than expected. Using them again for backyard. Excellent customer service and extremely easy to work with. Great find and very professional!

Last summer we hired De’Angele to address a drainage and water pooling issue in our backyard. Right off the bat, communication was a problem and getting them to come out and actually do the work was a job in itself. Once the work was finally done it was evident that the pooling and drainage issue was not resolved. In fact, it became worse. Our pooling issue went from taking up a corner of the lot to almost half the backyard. We also had a lot of gaps underneath our fence line that were not there before the work was completed. I took videos and photos and called De’Angele at the start of fall to make sure they were aware of the issues. Someone came out and looked at the property but said they could not do the work at that moment as it was getting to cold and we would be first on their list come April. April came and went and we never heard from them again. We called multiple times always getting a voicemail. Our first phone called was returned but unfortunately we were unable to answer and it went to voicemail. Since then we have left a handful of voicemails with no return call. At this point we’ve accepted that we will never get the issue fixed by them nor will we get any of our money back. We have hired a different company to take care of the issue, Bocash Brothers out of Rockland, and they have been wonderful. Communication has been excellent and they really know what they are doing and how to fix this specific issue. DO NOT hire De’Angele for anything other than the most basic work, if even for that.

Juan and his crew did an excellent job. It was about 3 weeks from signing the agreement to their arrival to do the work. They did everything perfectly as agreed upon and even more than I expected. It's April so the yard needed a bit of spring cleaning which, to my surprise, they did it. Also mowed the grass, edged and mulched a few other shrubs. They finished all the work in 1 day, removed all of the debris and swept the driveway and street clean. The yard has never looked better. We couldn't be happier.

I was impressed by their quick response to my call for help. I had two other landscape companies that I had contacted at the beginning of the summer. One I called three times and never returned my calls and the other came and took notes, etc. and told me I might have to wait. Well, they never called and never came. So, De'Angle was out here and did the work promptly with no fuss. I wasn't home when they came so I didn't have much to say about what they did. But I am happy with the cleanup and trimming and the way they designed the space so now it looks well maintained and manicured.

A great job!!! Super hard working crew. De'Angele had a fine eye for detail and made everything look better than it has in years. He is on my speed dial for any of my upcoming landscape projects. Would absolutely recommend his company to anyone.

We had scheduled an appointment with another landscaping company back in May that we had used in the past and were told that we would be put on the schedule; however every week we never made the schedule.  We had a party planned soon and were in desperate need of a clean-up, edging, and mulch.  I contacted De'Angele and he responded via e-mail within a couple hours.  I explained our situation  and he said he would make an appointment to provide an estimate. When I explained the timeframe for completing the project, he said he drive by that afternoon to give me an estimate via e-mail and try to fit us in that week. 

He was able to fit us in two days later and did an OUTSTANDING job.  While the cost was a couple hundred dollars more than we unusually spent for the same work that past couple years, the work was done 110% better than it ever had been in the past.  The crew was professional and went out of their way to make sure that we were happy.  I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation and will use again in the future.

De'Angele responded quickly to my initial phone call.  He promptly visited the site and provided an estimate.  Arrived on site to do the agreed work at the scheduled time and performed the work as agreed.  We wanted additional work done and De'Angele worked with us on additional costs.  De'Angele arrived a week early and finished the job as agreed.  We were very happy with the quality, punctuality and it was a fair price.

They were very hard working. The neighbors all commented that some mornings they were there at 8:30-6:30. They were eager to
please and to get the job done in efficient time. The area was sloped, which was a challenge. I was home during construction to
make sure my wishes were understood as there was a slight language barrier, although the owner was clear in his communications. The overall work was excellent.

All went well. they started at 7am and finish around 830am

DeAngele was very professional and responded right away when I first called him. He  came out right away with a group of strong guys who worked quickly to complete the job in one day.
We were very pleased with the work that was done and we felt that considering the amount of digging, lifting and moving of plants that was done, that the price was reasonable.

cleaned sidewalks and driveway, de-thatched the lawn (almost 3/4 acre), mowed, removed 2 shrubs and spread mulch on 3 sides of the house...very hard workers..all was in excellent shape when they finished!

We had just taken down a large Hemlock pine tree in the middle of the yard that prevented a grass lawn from growing and needed a new lawn including new loam. We hired D'Angele after receiving quotes from 2 other landscapers. D'Angele came in at almost half the cost of the other two landscaping firms.The preparation and seeding went in fairly late into the season (November). Through the following spring and summer, the lawn came in fairly well. There were a few areas that required additional scraping and seeding, which I did. By the end of the summer, the lawn was taking good shape. I expect it will take a few growing seasons to get the lawn to where I want it. D'Angele gave me a great price and a good start on a lawn.

My only caution is to ensure new loam is free of pebbles to the greatest degree available.  Ours had more pebbles than I would have preferred, but the price was great.
