I contracted Treesmith to get an estimate for removing 2 dead trees. They suggested that a third tree should be trimmed which made sense to me. The estimate they provided was for between $750-1100 depending on the effort involved. The final cost was $1100. I had told them that I wasn't in a rush and for them to schedule me in for whenever was convenient for them. Within a week of the initial consultation they called to set a time to come do the work. They were very good at setting expectations. They cut the wood from the trees into firewood size pieces and stacked it neatly.

I asked for a quote to remove a couple of low-hanging branches as well as an estimate to clean up the whole tree. His estimate was very close to Davey Tree though I found Nathanial's puntuality and professionalism very much better. In the end I opted to do the whole tree. It took around 7 hours to complete the job.
