The company did a good job. The sales person was very good, described in detail. Tried to find a space on a roof to place the system, but no room left after a solar PV system was installed. So spec'ed out a fixed ground mount. The installers did a good job, took a little longer to get done than I would have liked, but plumber/ gas person was very good, and the guys who did the mechanical work, putting in the ground mount, the panels, a long run of flexible S/S lines for the antifreeze, and the solar hot water tank did a very good, clean job.

Went very well. We had a unique situation where our old electric hot water tank cracked and we were in desperate need of a new tank. We contacted NESHW and the very next day we had a brand new tank. Bruce was on site throughout the project and he is very knowledgeable. All of the crew (Shawn?, CJ and Steve) were approachable and helpful with any questions. We actually contracted this project through Sunbug solar which may be why our cost was a bit higher than the going average. Even still, the guys doing the work were great. Bruce the owner is hands on and willing to ensure a smooth install. Liz in the office was a pleasure to deal with and very understanding of our unique situation with a newborn at home and needing hot water. I would highly recommend these guys! Today will be our first day of solar gain and we cannot wait to take a solar hot shower!

We utilized the rebates, tax credits and zero interest loan through MassSaves (NStar) and MassCEC. This made the install $0 up front cost to us and about $1500 out of pocket in the end. What a deal!
Bruce (owner/engineer) was very responsive from the beginning, including his first consultation, then the NESHW staff guided the process along smoothly (these things take a while because rebates have to be approved, loans need to be applied for, etc. before any work gets done). They know how they system works and willingly answered our questions along the way. The whole process (from first consultation to install) took two months. The actual install happened within one day.
On install day, Bruce was on site most of the time, as well as a crew of three who each had specialized tasks and were focused on their work the entire time. Our roof needed minor reinforcement for panel installation and Bruce took care of dealing with town licensing and inspecting and then doing the work. Because our roof is small, and not in the best orientation the panels had to be tilted up on mounting racks, and the crew was working safely the entire time on the roof. Bruce took the time with me to go over the many options for bringing the lines inside the house, and why certain routes wouldn't work, etc. Lastly, Bruce ended the day by going over the operation of the hot water tank, mixing valve, microprocessor, etc. so that we could monitor it and use water at the temperature we prefer. They cleaned up afterward and even took away the old HWH.
In the end, it was a good experience and I would recommend Bruce and New England Solar Hot Water to anyone interested in going the solar route.

The bidding process was simple in this case and we got a bid within a few days of the visit.  We received rebates from the state and also applied for a 0 percent loan for the projects. Bruce, Liz and their staff were ready to file the paperwork and top of all the steps. They helped the processes go smoothly.

We took a long time to make our decision and the team at NESHW was very patient. They answered all of our questions and considered, not just, the efficiency, but the aesthetics. They completed the installation in a single (long) day and were diligent about making the installation and routing of piping neat. That included notching the closet shelves to fit the piping and doing careful work on the roof (I watched them). They pulled all necessary permits and even made the arrangements to have the inspectors come afterwards.
Overall, a very good experience with a product that, after two months, we're very happy with.
