First class job at a very fair price Bottom line...I highly recommend Georgoulis Roofing and Construction. Our experience with them could not have been any better. I wasn't looking forward to finding a new contractor, especially since there seems to be so many small roofing companies out there. We used a roofer on our old house years ago and we would not use them again. We also knew of a roofer that our neighbor used, but he ended up over-estimating the roof size, which resulted in much higher costs for materials and labor. I don't think he really wanted the job. I saw great reviews for Georgoulis on multiple web sites, and I preferred to deal with a local company. Since I relied on those reviews, I wanted to share our experience for the benefit of others. Al Greene (Director of Field Operations) was great to work with. He was always extremely responsive, replying to all of our emails in a very timely manner (almost always within 24 hours or less). We looked at both Certainteed and GAF shingles, and decided on Certainteed Landmark (Pewterwood color). Moises, Christian and the rest of the roofing crew did a great job. Our house is 2500 sq ft...2 stories plus a side family room and the roof has a fairly good grade (roofers had to use safety ropes). They said the existing 1-layer roof would be stripped and replaced in two days, and it was. There were seven workers the first day and they worked a 12 hour day. There were three workers the second day and they worked 10 hours. They moved along at a really good pace. They placed blue tarps to protect the shrubs, walkway and deck. They then placed larger black tarps from the roof edge to the ground to protect the house itself. The crew also used several large magnets to search for nails all around the grounds and the lawn when done. There were only a few minor follow-up issues that required fixing - nothing unexpected for such a dirty job. A few asphalt marks on the siding and aluminum flashing from the shingle debris. There were also a couple of pieces of white aluminium flashing that had to be bent during installation in order to get the shingles all of the way in. This was completely understandable. Since we had a prior problem with bats in one of those areas, we asked them to restore the flashing to its original snug fit. They took care of everything right away. We also had three window screens that were damaged by shingle debris on the second day (minor scraps from the new roof; large black house tarps are only up during roof removal on day 1; had to be removed from the roof edge in order to install the new roof). I offered to take the screens to be repaired and Georgoulis reimbursed us. In hindsight, I wish I had taken the screens out. Kevin and Billy installed 10 sets of new vinyl shutters as well as a rain diverter over the front steps. They also addressed some of the clean-up issues. We covered the items in our attic since we knew there would be lots of granules going through the ridge vent during removal. We also took down anything hanging on the walls that might fall due to vibrations (mirrors, framed pictures, etc). Turns out we probably didn't need to do that, but better safe than sorry. We've already had a few good rain storms and there are no leaks or issues with the new roof. The builder had used inferior shingles when they built the house. We had a couple of leaks and had shingles blow off several times over the years due to the wind (due to lack of tar adhesive on the shingles). We now know that we have a solid, high quality roof. Everyone involved was great from start to finish. We couldn't have asked for more. It really exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend Georgoulis to family and friends and would definitely use them again for any job.

They did an excellent job, left no trace, and were in and out of there in half a day. I would absolutely hire them again.

emoved two layers of shingles on gambrel style house  and installed new roof with GAF quality materials, installed 4 soffit vents and even did an extra favor of touching up the paint on a few cedar shakes near the roofline!
The job was done by a professional team of roofers in one day and all debris was picked up and disposed of.

New roof process starts with researching roofing contractors via referrals and web searches, such as Angie's list.  Then research on the different brands of singles is needed.  I found Georgoulis Roofing via GAF website, which has listings for Master Elite Contractors.  After 6 estimates,  Georgoulis Roofing was in the middle.  The estimator answered all my questions and performed all the work I requested.  The lead time for the job start date was 2-3 weeks.  The job was started 2.5 weeks after I signed the contract.  The workers showed up on time.  The Crew of 5, completed the job in one day.  Approximately 26-30 sq for the job.  The crew did one last walk through for clean-up checking for debris and nails.  Note on nail removal, a magnetic is used to sweep the area, which does not work on aluminum nails.  The crew has a leaf blower for clearing debris, but I recommend second sweep with your own leaf blower to clear the sidewalks and driveway.  Note on tarps used to catch shingles during removal.  Some of the tarps had long holes , which allowed some of the shingles to scrape on the siding of the house, leaving black marks. The supervisor for the job needed to come back to install heat wires and the zinc strips the next day.  Overall, I was very satisfied with the job and recommend using Georgoulis Roofing for your roofing needs.

Job completed on time. The professionalism from the Sales Rep. to all of the workers were excellent. From preparation to the completion of the job, all precaution to protecing my home and landscaping was shown. All my expectations for the job were met and the estimate first quoted was on target with no hidden fees. I also liked the idea that I received an extended warranty up and above that offered from the manufacturer of the shingles.

They are very professional and very reliable with phone calls and services. There are no language barriers at all. They also did a roof for us and a sky light about 8 years ago and that went extremely well. They even put their cigarette butts in special pouches so they didn't just throw them in my yard. Their quality is excellent.

When I got the contract price, I called to question the breakdown. I was told that with the material price was $600.00, and I would get any materials that were left over. I was also told that the bulk of the contract - $800.00 was for set-up. Set-up involved leaning 2 ladders against the house up to the roof. Certainly not $800.00 worth. Also, I had to ask for the left over materials - they left less than 1/2 dozen shingles and certainly did not use $600.00 worth of material. It took multiple phone calls to get a copy of the signed contract to me, even though they already had their deposit. The workers just showed up one day unannounced - I did not need to be here for them to get on the roof, but I would have liked to know they were coming. The actual workers were very polite and did not leave any mess, and what I can see of their work looks fine, but I feel that the estimator gave me a "song and dance" regarding what the quote covered and based on that, I'm not sure I would hire them again.

Everything was great. I love their company, and found them to be very prompt and professional. The quote guy came fast, and they had an opening so they were able to take me sooner than expected. They did the work in one day, and it was clean when they left. It has rained a lot since then and the roof has not leaked. I was very happy with them and would certainly consider using them again.

Georgoulis did a prompt estimate and gave thorough info on project and materials. The estimate was the highest of 3 by about $1000, but included preferred materials and installation of rear gutter. A foreman and a team of 6-8 non-english-speaking workers arrived on the planned day. The foreman did a quick review, then the house was surrounded by a curtain of tarps and the old shingles and gutters were removed and dumped into a truck. The new roof, rear gutter and rain diverter were finished later that day. Upon closer inspection I found that the gutter did not drain fully, collecting an inch of water. I called Georgoulis and they sent someone to fix the problem within a week....only, it wasn't fixed. It still collected water, just less. After a third call and visit, including addition of a second downspout at the other end of the gutter, it still collected about a half-inch of water. Two reasons I want a fully draining gutter are: 1. New Hampshire mosquitos which breed in standing water are very nasty and my propane mosquito trap can't keep up with them. 2. A few winters of ice filled gutters will have them sagging just like the old ones that were replaced. Even though Georgoulis had access to a water hose and testing for drainage took less than 5 minutes, they failed to properly install the gutter after 3 attempts. Rather than wasting more time, I decided to fix the problem myself. They did a good job on roof and carpentry leaving very little mess behind, but a gutter company, they are NOT. Next time (I hope there isn't a next time) I will hire a separate gutter company instead of having a roofer do it.

My attic had poor ventilation with no ridge vent and soffit vents that were covered up by siding panels. Bathroom ventilation fan vented into attic. Bay windows leaked in winter due to ice dams. I obtained proposals from 5 roofing contractors with prices ranging from about $9,000 to about $13,000. The proposals were not directly comparable, because they did not contain the same components. Georgoulis' proposal was the most thorough and addressed all the problems I was trying to solve. Their proposal was the only one that included installation of rafter vents to keep insulation from covering up the soffit vents. They also offered a top-of-the-line warranty, the "GAF Golden Pledge Ltd. Warranty," which no doubt increased the overall price of the job, but I plan to sell my house in the next few years and I think this warranty may be a good selling point. They arrived on the day scheduled at 7:30 am with 8 men and did not leave until 7:30 pm. They covered the sides of the house and shrubbery with plastic tarps, but these eventually came down as the rafter vents were being installed. I watched a good deal of the roofing process to assure myself that I was getting all the components listed in the proposal. At one point I did have to ask the owner to remind one roofer to use 6 nails per shingle, which is required for the warranty to cover wind damage at maximum wind speed. At the end of the day they cleaned up. The old roof had 3 layers of shingles and there was a lot of debris. In back of the house they cleaned up a little too thoroughly, shoveling mulch into trash bags because it was impossible to remove all the pieces of old felt paper otherwise. In front of the house they cleaned up reasonably well, but I was picking up pieces of old roofing for some time afterwards. (It is difficult to get bits and pieces of roofing out of goundcover.) Two men returned 2 days later (it rained on the intervening day) to finish up some siding work and to install the copper roofing on the bay windows. They worked from about 8:00 am until 5:15 pm. This job was done in August 2008. The roof looks beautiful. So far so good as of Oct. 2008.

Very well. When I called about tentative date of work, estimate was given, more precise info subsequently. Came on time, on correct date, cleaned up every day. Worked every day until completion. Workers were courteous and considerate. Messy job in an old house. 2 of our neighbors subsequently used same company. Original referral was from first neighbor in area to use this company.
