We contacted three Angie's List A rated roofers. Mr. Willard who personally did the estimate was prompt, personable, thorough and patient. The estimate included a detailed, understandable description of the work, and his employees completed the job on time. Willard's estimate was about $1,000 less than his competitor. This was not the only reason that we chose his company but certainly contributed to the decision.

Initially I contacted the company via e-mail. I received a call from the president of the company the very next morning. The president does all the marketing for the company which is a family owned business that has been around for over a century. He was able to meet with me that afternoon and spent about 15 minutes educating me on roofing materials and craftmanship. I found Willard on Angies list. They have a 100% A rating and are in the same town as me, which I really liked. I received three estimates for the roof. One was so high I was convinced that that company really did not want the job. Another never bothered to show. I received one estimate that was less that Willard, however; no education was done and the shingles and the underlayments they wanted to use were of poor quality. The other company wanted to use felt paper which can rip very easily as opposed to diamond deck. Also they were only going to lay three feet of underlayment as opposed to Willard using six feet of wintergaurd which is a superior underlayment. The lowest estimate only included removal of two layers of shingles, whereas; Willard's covered three layers, which I suspected the old homeowner had done. The job took eleven hours including clean up. I liked the way they wrapped the house to protect the bushes and lawn. They covered the steps and walkway, but it was difficult to keep clean as the guys have a lot of debris on their boots due to walking on the roof. One small 14 inch piece of backsplash on the gutter broke and Willard was there at the crack of dawn the next morning replacing it and power washed all the grease off of my bluestone stairs cement walkways and the back splash on the gutters to really make the job shine. I have worked with a lot of contractors and I have never been so impressed with the management and professionalism of the company. They take great pride in customer satisfaction and using only the best materials. The crew was very friendly and the whole team worked well together and were very easy to work with. I love my new roof and it adds a touch of class to my home. I am confident I will not have to worry about any leaks or discoloration for many many years to come. I highly recommend Willard.

All work went smoothly and as scheduled. The skylight installation ended up leaving more of a gap between the existing interior frame and the new skylight than anticipated. This called for called for additional work that needed to happen on another day but it was included in the original agreement. Once complete, there was a seamless transition on both the interior and exterior with each of the two skylights. Site clean up was very good at the end of each day of work.

I had an excellent experience. Everyone I dealt with at the company was courteous, knowledgeable and professional. I would absolutely use them again on future projects.

The crew arrived on a Monday morning and unloaded their equipment. Because the weather looked iffy they decided not to begin until the following day. They arrived promptly Tuesday morning and worked diligently all day. They uncovered a problem with a vent pipe which was not connected in the attic and made the necessary repairs. They also took the incentive to paint another vent pipe so that it blended into the roof. When they were not able to finish on Tuesday, they secured the incomplete portion with tarps, which was important as we had snow which began that night and extended into Wednesday. They returned Thursday after the weather had cleared and completed the job. At all times was the crew courteous and professional. They secured their equipment and cleaned up after the first day, and did a thorough cleaning upon completion. They took care not to damage any of the plantings around the house or garage. In addition, Mr. Willard agreed to have his crew remove some debris from a demolition which had nothing to do with the roofing job. This saved me having to hire a removal company, and I greatly appreciate his going 'above and beyond'. I cannot recommend The Willard Company highly enough.

They used quality products and did not cut corners. The work on the roof consisted of stripping, sheathing, replacing the ridge vents and all the flashing and shingling. It only took 2-1/2 days to complete the job. The service they provided was excellent and worth the price of the job. I would definitely use them again, and would not hesitate to recommend them to someone else.

Willard, did not set a definite time as it was a small job. They called before coming, arrived promptly and when done they painted the new wood at no charge with the paint provided.

I had a terrible contractor who installed a new roof, took deposits for new windows, then ran away with my money. The roof they installed was so subpar that it leaked and needed to be totally replaced :-( I had used Willard in the past and had had great experiences with them, so I called Willard again. They stepped in, quickly and were great. I trust the father-son team. They were always professional and communicated what was happening in the process. The office staff is also very responsive. While there were a few glitches in the process, they were very quick to respond and remedied them right away. I haven't had any quality issues with any of their work since and plan on hiring them again to put a roof on my new house. This will be the 4th house I've hired them to work on the roof. They do seem pricier than others in the community, but I trust the quality and process of their work. They also stand behind their work and their word. I have referred them to friends, who've also had a good experience with them.

They do a fine job. One of the windows had cracked after installation and they came and replaced it at no charge. I would recommend them. They are friendly, responsive, and they have a good office staff to help take calls. I would use them again if the price was right.

They were good to deal with, showed up promptly for estimate and actual job,and seemed knowledgeable. It's hard to judge the quality of roof work after 1 month - that will take years. I downgraded slightly on quality because I have been finding many nails in my front flower bed since the work was done

I have used them before. They are responsive to any questions or concerns. They do a good job and clean up well. They seem very honest.

Had another contractor do some work on my soffit/gutters and they messed up my roof and it started leaking. Called Willard and they were out very quickly to take a look. Found a bunch of nail holes and cracks on my roof, but said the roof was in decent shape and probably had another year or two left on it. Even mentioned that I could probably buy stuff at Home Depot and fix it myself since the damage wasn't that extensive. I'd rather have a professional do it so for $300 they sent guys the next day to fill the nail holes and the cracks. Quick and easy and roof stopped leaking! Appreciated their honesty and when I do need to replace the roof will definitely have them on the top of my list.

They arrived on time, provided an accurate estimate, and cleaned up once they had finished. The end result looks quite nice.

The Willard Company gave me an estimate about 2 and a half months ago for roofing and siding. The estimate was not clearly itemized and misleading, which ended up costing us another $8,000. We went with CertainTeed architectural shingles for the roof and CertainTeed vinyl siding. The initial meeting went well, the project manager came by and explained the process of the job, seemed simple enough. They did the roof first, took about 2 days, called prior to showing up and let us know what time they would be arriving, how long they would work for, what they would need from us. They did a good job on the roof, looks great. After that things seemed to break down. They never called to say they were showing up to start the siding, one morning I just woke up to banging on the side of the house and someone working right outside my bedroom window! On top of that they ruined two expensive plants that were in the yard (which after some bargaining with the project manager we were credited on the final payment), left tons of cigarette butts all over the property, left up scaffolding after we had requested they take it down or secure it because we live in a neighborhood with a lot of kids and on two occasions the guys doing the siding had their friends stop by and hang out while music blared from their car. There seemed to be poor communication between the guys doing the siding and the project manager because we had discussed several things that never got passed on and ended up being done twice. The misleading estimate was the most upsetting. The way it was laid out in the quote made it seem like the entire job (roofing and siding) would be about $23,000 which seemed in line with the other estimates we received, however when it came time to start payment on the siding after they had already started we did the math and realized that something was terribly wrong. It was too late to stop the project and when we asked if we could leave out the garage to save some money they told us that they had forgotten to include it in the estimate even though we had asked them to, this seemed to be a surprise to the owner of the company and project manager as well. Overall I was very disappointed and would not use this company again or refer them to anyone who was looking for siding /roofing work.

Mr. Willard, Jr. came to do our estimate within a day or two of calling. We received the estimate in a couple of days time. It was by far the most extensive and professional of the estimates received. They were always very willing to answer and questions I had about the proposal and usually got back to me the same day. After the 1st day of work, Mr. Willard, Jr. called me the following morning to inform me that his team had installed 5" gutters instead of the 6" gutters quoted, by mistake. He offered me a discount, or they'd be happy to take down the gutters and put the quoted ones on. We chose to have the quoted gutters put on. There was no extra charge for this. I was impressed, because I didn't even know there was a problem. We were having a breeze way replaced on the house as well in a near term project, so they happily left us roofing materials for the breezeway at no charge. I was very, very happy with this contract.

The roofing experience with Willard Co was excellent. We obtained multiple quotes from other roofers and all were within a thousand dollars. Will Co offered a must more detailed insight into ice dam problems and how to overcome them. Their pricing was good. They showed up on time, had a crew of 12 and got the entire roof done in a day and a half. The owner was responsive to my calls during the project and offered a couple of options based on what was discovered when they took the roof off. Would recommend them to anyone.

Parker Willard is easy to reach and the process was very relaxed and easy. The roof and soffits were done in a day and everything looks great. There were no surprises or "extras" in the bill, even though prices of shingles went up significantly between the time of the estimate and the time I wanted the work done. They used a dump truck rather than a dumpster to protect the driveway from dents. Clean-up could have been a bit better; I found a handful of nails and little pieces of plastic and shingles all over the yard. I also found a crowbar in the middle of the backyard, which would have bad if my 18-month-old had found it first and stepped on it. I really liked that the company didn't seem harried, it was all very organized. I would definitely use them again.

The Willard Co was very prompt and professional. I received the quote back in April, but didn't schedule the project. When I called on Monday of this week, I was told that they would honor the price on the quote. Their response time was incredible. They came out the next day to confirm the work that needed to be done. They did all the work on the following day! The guys arrived at the time they said they would. They took care not to harm my plants. They explained what they were doing and how many slates they were replacing. They were polite and considerate. They cleaned up before they left - you cannot even tell that we had workers on the property. I paid them that day and received a receipt from Mr. Willard in the mail on Friday.

The paint began to wear out. It started to peel and flake and we thought that was really fast. When they came they didn’t say anything about their warranty or the paint’s warranty. They gave us a new estimate this time that was way high and so we didn’t use them this time. This time they wanted $26000. The job they did five years ago was okay. They did it okay and it looked okay. The fact that there was no warranty when I called them back didn’t hold up. The people were very nice and they were very professional. They just cost more and they did not have a warranty which they should have had. I had no problem with the actual technique of painting the house which they did right. Their price was high. They were professional and responsive. They did not accept their fault when the paint started to peel and flake. I do not have a problem with the quality of work. I have a problem with the quality of the paint. I would not use their services again in the future.
