Ron was accommodating in the scheduling of our estimate. He was prompt, professional and had some wonderful ideas. I was very encouraged, until I received the estimate. My husband and I have been doing our homework, receiving estimates, getting referrals from friends, etc. Ours is a small, straight-forward job - kitchen cabinet replacement, new countertop and backsplash, all the work existing within the same footprint meaning no structural changes, no gut work, etc. We have received three workable estimates ranging from $21,000 - $26,000. Ron's came in at $92,000...$92,000! If he thought our job was too small for his time, perhaps he should have informed us of that upfront, instead of insulting our intelligence with his outrageous quote. As my husband aptly put it "Sorry Ron, but we have our own kids to put through college."
Description of Work: Provided an estimate for a small kitchen update.

He brought in illegal contractors including an electrician that was just a journeyman and never had a master electrician check the work. He left a live wire in my basement and under a cabinet. He had less than reputable subcontractors. His workmanship is poor. I have window sills that are splitting and I don't know why. He didn't finish what was contracted. He owes us over $20,000 still for things he's charged us for like doors that haven't been installed and a heating system that wasn't finished. He also dragged the project out forever. He constantly didn't show up. When I gave him his last check he said he would be back to finish up that problems but he hasn't been back. Underneath my deck has openings that need to be fixed so animals can't get under it. All of this was under contract and documented and I have to go to court now to try to get some of my money back.
Description of Work: They were supposed to build a new kitchen and addition to my house.
