Jack Clarke Painting

I wasn't sure if I could afford to paint the walls and the trim. Jack gave me two estimates and never tried to push any services on me. He was clear about the cost and when they were available to start. I ended up doing both the walls and the trim. Jack and his crew did an excellent job. The trim had years and years of old thick paint. They sanded all of it off and re-painted. It looks so much better. They patched the many holes in the trim where cable wires were tacked. The wall painting was great. He not only got all the old paint off the door handles and window levers, but the grim as well. I thought they were bronze but apparently they were just very dirty brass! I would definitely use his services again.

If you want me to boil my review of J Clarke Painting down to one word it would be: IMPECCABLE!

I have no personal connection to this company nor any experience with them before. So no personal interest in this. But I am a 25-year homeowner with a lot of experience in the past having various home repair, remodeling and painting services and I can say unequivocally that Jack?s is the best painting service I have ever seen. Jack is the owner of this company, and his manner throughout our large project was always perfectly kind, fair and professional. He was very knowledgeable and able to help us sort out a few issues with our paint and our walls too. He has a team of painters (THE nicest guys!) and also other carpentry associates which came in super handy when we needed a wall taken down and replaced. Every person who worked on our home was the same way -- always professional, clean, quiet, respectful, on time every day, and did a 5-star paint job. They don?t skimp on the prep work, the cleaning, sanding and fixing imperfections. Jack?s price was very very fair and he never tried to sell me anything more.  The job went over a day due to an unexpected need for a wall to be rebuilt, and Jack did not charge me extra for this, which I greatly appreciated!!! So bottom line, if you want a company who will show up for you in the best possible way and do a great job at a very fair price, J Clarke Painting is your company. I will be calling Jack back to paint the outside of our house this summer!!

The rating reflect truly good quality in every way.  Excellent job, perfect walls now.  Patched large cracks in walls and ceiling.  Skim coated walls beautifully flat, painted ceiling and walls.  Took 2 and a half days total for 2 bathrooms to make sure the patching dried completely before being painted. 
Wonderful disposition. He oversaw the work that was completed by his employees.  Came in beginning, during, and end of job.  Employees very professional.  Provided the paint, cleaned up after themselves.  Very quiet.  Provided the paint after I gave him the colors.  Made it very easy.
I would definitely use them again.

Jack and his crew were great. Jack's responsiveness and communication was great throughout the job. His crew was meticulous and I felt very comfortable having them in my house for four days. I agree with other reviewers that Jack's prices were very fair. He is my new go to painter. Highly recommend.

Found Jack through references from two former neighbors. Couldn't have been happier with regard to his communications, quality, responsiveness. Jack also will, when asked, offer his opinions on color and his opinions were greatly appreciated.
At the end of the job there were a couple of minor "punch list" type corrections which he promptly attended to.
We gave him and his crew (leader was Wagner) access to our place while we were away without any problems or concerns.
I'm sure there are cheaper (he wasn't expensive) but he was tops in terms of fair price for very good work. What more could you ask for?

Jack repainted much of our house, including skim coating a deteriorating closet with plaster. The quality of work was impeccable. He even had part of our stairwell ceiling collapse on him, and he replastered it without adding to his estimate. He came recommended from a friend and coworker and I would definitely hire him again.

They are very professional and do a nice job. They were very cooperative.

The job looks great and has held up very well.  The area had been a problem in the past (peeling paint) and it has held up very well.

I hired Jack recently to paint the interior of my condo.  Jack did a beautiful job and gave me great advice as I was preparing for my unit to be rented. He was punctual, professional, and does quality work. In fact, I am going to have him paint another condo of mine once I move in early 2014!

His work is so beautiful and that is absolutely true. He is so nice, funny and really professional. I had a huge renovation done to my house and the contractor, sub-contracted Jack Clarke Painting. He spent many hours and days painting the walls, ceiling, and he even stained a bookcase and a fireplace. He is superb. Everyone who comes into my house and feels the doors and door frames around my home, they comment on how they feel like satin, due to the way he applies the paint; it is so even and smooth! His work is phenomenal!

The work was terrific beginning to end. Jack showed up exactly when he said, every time without fail - this is so huge. We're all busy and don't need to guess whether or when someone is going to show up. He provided an estimate in a timely manner, itemized the work and gave a fair price. The work was performed by him working together with a two man crew who were all courteous and considerate of my living space and belongings. They were also very skilled painters - efficient and meticulous. Jack did fabulous work on painting the built in cabinet. If you're going to the time and expense to build new cabinetry, you want a professional finish and mine looks awesome, I couldn't be happier.

We had Jack paint the exterior of our house two years ago, and since then I haven't bothered to call anyone else.  I know that his estimate will be fair for the quality and thoroughness of work performed, and that he'll respond promptly to any e-mail questions or concerns.  He takes pride in his work and makes sure the customer is satisfied.

First time meeting Jack it was a very good experience - he said he needed two weeks to do the job right because he did not want to rush it.  Durng the job, my husband and I would come in to see the job.  If there were any issues, we called Jack and he took care of it.  Not very many punchlist items at all - just minor things, but the response and attention to detail from Jack to fix these issues was a Godsend.  I would recommend Jack any time and I am definitely going to refer him to my friends and family and I will definitely use him again.
Jack's work is excellent and his response to our issues was immediate, and he is very conscientious, honest and a pleasure to do business with.  You will not be disappointed using Jack and his crew. 

After we moved into a new property in summer 2010, we hired Jack Clarke and his team to repaint the entire interior of our new condo.  The previous owners had used a "crayon box" approach, with one orange room, one pink room, one blue-and-green room, and so on. The previous owners had also applied large letters and other art directly to the condo surfaces, which had damaged the walls. So, we needed painters who would do a careful job not just of painting but also of prepping the walls, getting rid of the previous damage, and covering up strong colors.  Jack and his crew did an excellent job on all fronts.  He was also very knowledgeable about what kinds of paint to use, since you need different types of paint for stairs, for bathrooms, for kitchens, and so forth.  The place looked great after they were done and we were very happy.  Jack was even understanding when we changed two colors midstream.  The only problem was one that he did not cause.  Because our carpenter was not done with installing some new built-ins on schedule, Jack had to stop painting and wait for the built-ins to be completed.  Jack is so popular & heavily booked that it took a while before we could get him back on site again, so there was a big gap between when he started the job and when he finished.  But, as mentioned, that was not his fault.  We would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Jack came out for initial inspection/quote. Work had to be rescheduled a couple of times due to weather - it was early spring, so we needed it dry and warm enough. He kept me on top of his plans, and then once the weather was good, he and a colleague arrived on time, and got the job done in 1.5 days, getting everything finished before more rain began later that second afternoon. Final results were high-quality - hard to tell where the work had been done. Invoice came via email. His mailing address needs updating - the check was returned from the listed address, but we sorted that out later.

The team was responsible, timely, professional and accommodating at all times. Along with that, they always had time for questions and were more than helpful with my personal projects. I would highly recommend Jack and his team.

I own a condo in brookline and due to time constraints I only had a day to schedule a painter. At a moments call Jack Clarke said he could start the next day when many other painters would not. I could not stay long in Brookline so Jack and his crew finished promptly in 3 days (other painters said a minimum of 2 weeks). They quickly arrived at 7am every day and would stay until 8 or 9pm to make sure the job was done. The workers were extremely nice and professional. Each time they left the condo to get food or coffee they made sure if I wanted anything as well. With a smile on their faces they worked tirelessly to finish the job in a short amount of time. They also painted the front and back doors free of charge which was exceptionally nice of them. Jack answered every phone call I placed at anytime, and insured I was happy with everything before leaving. I would hire him again without hesitation, and would recommend Jack Clarke painting to everyone.

Mr Clarke was recommended to us as a "perfectionist." He is that - he takes pride in his work and is committed to complete customer satisfaction. He was very responsive to e-mails throughout the project, and easy to work with. We've already gotten several compliments on how great this old house looks. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again or recommend him to others.

We had a great experience with Jack. He is trustworthy and his work is exceptional. We moved into a new construction home that was a gutted townhouse and Jack did all of the work. It was not an easy project but Jack made us very comfortable and excited about the entire process!

I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE SEEN BETTER PREP OF ALLIGATORED EXTERIOR PAINT - SCRAPING, SANDING, PRIMING, FILLING, SANDING THE FILLER, THEN COATS OF PAINT OVER THAT. THE EXTERIOR LOOKS ''LIKE NEW''. WHERE THE OLD INTERIOR WOOD WAS GRUNKY, HE MADE FAUX-OAK PAINTING ON PIECES HERE AND THERE, AND I GET MUCH AMUSEMENT STUMPING GUESTS WHO CANNOT GUESS WHICH IS THE REAL AND WHICH IS THE FAUX. FAIR PRICES, ABSOLUTELY TOP QUALITY WORK, PRIMO RECOMMENDATION!
