Thomas MacDonald is the owner,he has been building for twenty years. High Level has versatile skilled professionals licensed in carpentry, electric, plumbing and HVAC. We can offer design and build as well as project over site.
We have been building additions, kitchens, and baths since 1990.
We are a Boston area builder located in Dedham, Massachusetts.
High level carpentry was recommended as an installer by the manufacturer of the siding that we purchased. Unfortunately after pulling the permit 6 months ago High level Carpentry did not complete the project as originally agreed. He periodically sent workers who did minimal work on project and then would not be seen for days and weeks at a time. Communication broke down several times and after six months High Level Carpentry resigned and left the house partially stripped with not one piece of siding applied to the project. We are now left trying to find a contractor to complete the work.
Description of Work: Strip and replace siding on a single family home.

Tom worked for me as a construction supervisor for building a new home, from September 2013 through February 2014. Tom is very honest and reliable. He never asked for any money in advance. He was at the job site at 7 a.m. every morning to open the site, and stayed to close the site after everyone left. All the workers he brought to our project were knowledgeable and seemed to be experts in their respective fields. The work was perfect.

My broker gave his card to me when I bought the unit although she had no experience with his work! I did get three estimates and he was par with another. Mr. Tom MacDonald and I discussed the plan and he supplied me with an estimate of $15,000 to complete the basement from ceiling to floor. Mr. MacDonald started the process and never finished. Naively he talked me out of getting an inspector involved. He did about 75% of the work and poorly! I had to hire another contractor (who had done excellent work on my brother's home..I know should have hired him) to finish and it cost me another 5,500 dollars to undo and then correct his work. The new contractor commented on how the walls were not plumb, the ceiling was bowed and falling and that the "finished carpentry" was not finished. When the ceiling was down, he commented that the lights were placed incorrectly and were a safety hazard. Mr. MacDonald hired an electrician who worked a second job and came at night). Mr. MacDonald also had another one of his workers (unskilled) enter my home and go through my house looking for my vacuum to remove all the dust from sanding the walls. It ruined my $350 dollar vacuum from Sears. Mr. MacDonald never came back to clean the remaining dust and debris as promised and left his garbage and broken tools in my basement. He promised to enclose exposed water pipes that fed the outside faucet and protruded out of the wall, as they would be a danger to kids playing? but never did. He used inferior products and never supplied me with receipts. He enclosed my furnace, and at a scheduled meter change, was told by the N... Gas Co. representative that it was a danger as there was not enough ventilation. Commented that at the very least he should have installed a ventilated door. Home inspector who came to check new hot water heater said the same! Tom MacDonald attempted to enclose my ceiling fire alarm with the drop ceiling and when I objected, did not finish that portion of the ceiling. I called and he promised he would come back. However, never did. Buyers beware! Please learn from me do not make the same mistake. He talks the talk but does not deliver. I was naive but it will never happen again. I tried to let it go but the inspector was the last straw!
Description of Work: I hired Tom Mac Donald of "High Level Contracting" to finish my unfinished basement in my 12 y.o townhouse. This provider gave me an estimate of $15,000 which "included ceiling to floor." Provider started the process and never finished. I paid half up front and as he went along, he begged me for small increments. It took forever as he came late in the day and stayed in the evening. I was so naive. He did about 75% of the work...poorly! I had to hire another contractor to finish and it cost me another 5500 dollars. Now I cannot sell until I correct lack of ventilation around the furnace.
