I am a landlord and have asked my tenants to contact Gassco from time to time with various HVAC issues. Every time I hear good things, communication is sound, replies are quick. After 2 other plumbers my sisters' called within the past week, to try to figure out, during this extreme cold snap, why the heat in my 84 year old mother's house was not registering above 59 degrees for a week (we bought in space heaters to keep her warm), I went onto Angie's List and found Gassco Inc. Last night, I left a message via Angie's List for Gassco asking if they could help resolve the problem. They responded first thing the next (this) morning (by 7:45am). I talked to them and they said they could send someone out, even in the midst of a cold snap, with MANY people without heat or with other frigid-temp plumbing problems. They called me, as they said they would, when their technician was on the way. The technician arrived right on schedule. He came in, diagnosed and SOLVED the problem right away, within an hour, and charged a reasonable fee for his service. My elderly mother's heat is now on and she is very happy, as am I, that she is no longer cold.

Overall very positive experience even though it took a little while to diagnose and get to the root cause (well actually I cannot say this because they were right with their first try but then inadvertently installed a faulty part to fix it). They decided to try the part again after a bit more troubleshooting and fixed it. Very reasonable cost.

On December 1 we our furnace was not working. Gassco was called and they came out that evening for an after hours call. The young man was courteous but wrong in his diagnosis, not even close. He was able to start the furnace but indicated that major repairs would be needed to fix the issue for the long-term and the issue could not be resolved that evening because of the need for specialty parts, etc.. Thirty minutes after he left, the furnace stopped working and since we believed that there was nothing that we could do that evening we waited until the next morning. The next morning I contacted another company who sent someone out that day. That person looked at it for five minutes and said that it was minor thing. Ten minutes later, he fixed it and did not want payment because it was such minor issue. He further said that the previous technician was incorrect in his assessment and should have known better. I contacted Gassco that day to tell them what happened. The person that I spoke to said that sometimes this can happen. The technician and the person I spoke to the next day were polite but I was disappointed that the offer of even a partial refund was not offered given that they obviously did not do an adequate job and completely misdiagnosed the issue. It has been one month and no issues at all with the furnace.

This job took several trips and some trial and error, including one emergency visit when something didn't work and the heat went out altogether.  But in the end Gassco managed to fix the problems I've had for quite a while which were caused by another clueless plumber.  They put the time into trying to figure out my system and how to get the job done right, and didn't gouge me on the cost.  Nice people.

It was one of the coldest weekends of the year.  We were very grateful. 
Years later, when we went to sell our home, we didn't like the way the
system venting they installed knocked against our door when we opened
it.  We called GASSCO, and they responded taking full responsibility for
correcting the situation, and repositioned the pvc so that ran
properly, and beyond that, helped me in the process to correct the
drainage of that and the nearby water heater to flow directly down into
the drain, rather than how originally installed to just drain out over
the drain hole.  I cannot tell you how grateful I was to have such
consideration and over and above responsiveness.  Thank you GASSCO.

I called to make an appointment for a tune up on our central air system and was given a time of 3-4pm on 5/29/14.
The tech called me at 2:15pm and asked if he could come then, but I had no one to meet him until 3pm so he waited.
My partner arrived to let him in, he did the tune up, and left out the back door without telling anyone he was leaving.
I was not in the house, so I called him to ask if it went OK.
He said the system was getting old (it was installed 8 years ago - doesn't seem old to me) and I should replace a bunch of parts soon but it was OK for the season.
A few days later I received a bill for $169.95.
I felt this was a lot of money for a seasonal tune up - my mistake for not asking what the price would be.
I felt they were reasonable in the past when I've used them.
I called to express my concerns for such a high bill for what seemed like little work, and I was told I could take off $25 as if I had one of their coupons.

In two emergencies, they were here in a flash and got me up and running without delay and with a fair price. Annually, they ahve taken care of routine maintenance, are fairly priced, always professional, delightful to have in my home, respectful of my property, etc. I highly recommend all of the Gassco employees. The only thing preventing me from updating my 30+ year old a/c system is that I won't need Gassco.

Very professional and affable. Same day service on first visit. Appeared to be very thorough. Not cheap, but that may be the market price. First visit came and checked AC for malfunction, found it working property but low in coolant and refilled. Then tested temperature coming out of vents inside.
Second visit was to check and fix a coolant leak. Spent several hours onsite and appeared to do a great job since the AC has been working great after their visit. The coolant leak test/fix was $500 which seems a bit pricey, but I know labor is expensive. All the technicians were pleasant and seemed very knowledgeable. I had a terrible experience with a prior AC/HVAC repairman and this was like night and day.

Gassco provided same-day service to fix an old AC compressor unit during the heat wave
pushing 100 F. Other providers I contacted couldn’t make it out the same day. Diagnosed and fixed the problem within 15 minutes of arrival; they had the part in the van. Will use them again.

We needed a new gas furnace before our very old one died.
We called 3 companies for bids, including Gassco, which we have called twice before
for an annual service on the old furnace (which was always a good
experience).
Gassco let us know several options,and also about the MassSave program
and encouraged us to check into that for rebates and financing if available.
They also advised us about an upcoming EPA deadline after which
the lower efficiency furnace were considering would
not be okay to install (which we then read about in the Angie's List
magazine). We talked with several guys at Gassco at various times, and each person seemed
knowledgeable and part of a well connected team.
From the fist visit to give a proposal, to the day before
installation to confirm measurements, to the day of installation, the
Gassco crew was on time and worked efficiently. There was one
follow-up visit to take care of the filter access door, which had been
overlooked, but that visit also went well. All very nice guys, and
reasonable.
It's never easy to have to spend money on things like this,
but this experience seemed as painless as possible.

Argh! One of the hottest days of the year- and a saturday- and our central a/c 's condensor burned out*. They were out within 45 minutes and the a/c was back on in less than 20. This is a man who LOVES his job. How often do you get THAT experience?Prior to this call- they were also out in the spring to do the spring maintenance on the unit.Someday, we'll need to replace this old unit, but we want to keep her working for as long as we can- Gassco was all about helping us do just that- even though they could have TRIED to sell us a new system.
* Note to self- don't turn an a/c on and off repeatedly to get the unit to turn on at just the right degree setting (I have since replaced the old thermostat with a new digital one and all's well. Lesson learned.
