D M Power Construction

We hired D.M Power Construction based on a recommendation from our Architect who has worked with this company on several similar projects. The job entailed remodeling our kitchen and bathroom and removing a structural wall  .The project took about 8 weeks as we had expected. The crew were highly skilled and knowledgeable and kept me up to date on progress .
An overall great expierence from this company - we are already planning on having them back next year to do more work!!

Didn"t follow thru with his worker.

Dermot was punctual, courteous and extremely knowledgeable. His team worked well together with Dermot and independently and showed respect and care for our home. We had noticeably more issues with the other contractors on the project than we did with Dermot. The only thing we would have done differently on this project would have been to ask Dermot to hire his own subcontractors (electrical, plumbing) so we would have been spared the headache of coordination. To his credit, Dermot stuck to the tight timetable even when delays arose due to challenges in corralling other contractors. Dermot gave us a reasonable estimate, first verbally and then in writing, and he stuck to it. He provided verbal updates on changes and then a written, detailed description at the end. We would work with Dermot again.

DM Power was recommended to our condo association by Cambridge Architect Zeke Brown. It was a good recommendation. From permitting, to contracting, to managing the actual job, to following up on the final punch list, Dermot Power and his team covered all the bases. The team worked hard, showed up on time, and cleaned up before they left. We were a bit nervous at the outset, having had no previous experience working with Dermot. But the two decks came out better than expected, despite the complexity of integrating them into a 100-year old house. The job covered excavation, foundation work, framing, and finish carpentry, and on all fronts the condo association ended up satisfied. Please with the job he had done on the deck, we handed over roofing repairs. Dermot identified a number of problem areas that were missed by other people quoting the job, photographed each one, and provided us a reasonable estimate to address them all. Dermot completed this job on very tight timeframe working in harsh winter conditions. In short, we can highly recommend Dermot's work ethic, his professionalism, and his team.

Dermot and his team are extremely skilled carpenters. Our porch looks fantastic. Dermot is easy to get a hold of and was willing to fix several small problems to our satisfaction. There were some points in the project where work stopped to wait for a subcontractor, but Dermot kept us informed about what was going on. Dermot's add-on estimate for residing a portion of our house was more than we expected, but he was able to explain the cost to our satisfaction.
