I had previously had Dutch work in my home and when the time came to do additional work I felt more comfortable with someone I knew. I had contracted Dutch to replace the roof and siding on my home. He was the most expensive of all the bidders but he was willing to do some additional work for me included in the price. That being said he was still high but I wanted to be comfortable with someone in and around my home. The siding was older and ugly and the roof was getting up there in years but did not leak. Things started badly when the project started a month late. Then once he started it became apparent quickly that there was a lack of care and quality in the work. The materials were never discussed with me other than colors and there was no descriptions or warranty information on the contract (required by state law). The work area was left a mess at the end of the day with nails and trash everywhere. A roof that should have been stripped and replaced in 2 days took 2 weeks. When it would rain the house leaked everywhere with just tarps to stop the elements. The walls and ceiling have stains and the carpet in one room smells of mildew. All this before the roof was completed. Add the not showing up everyday, showing up late, and leaving early and you can clearly see there's something not quite right. The contract called for a deposit and the amount by completion but Dutch would ask for money weekly. If you did pay him he would go directly to the bank, cash the check, and never come back on the same day. The roof was completed but has lacked after several attempts to correct it, the siding is fair but the flashing and trim is inexcusable. I paid separately to have tile put down and it took him multiple attempts and even then grouted loose tiles so I have since had to replace many of them. Now that I finally at my wits end I find out that he never applied for permits with the town, he clearly kept a substantial amount of money that should have gone into better materials and workmanship. Worse, I called a few people that used Dutch at my recommendation and they were not happy with the work. I have spoken to him several times and after several poor attempts at repairs my roof still leaks. He doesn't deny the work is poor but doesn't do anything to turn this situation around. He has offered me a $5,000 refund but in payments beginning in 2015. I have no belief that he will honor the refund just as he didn't honor the contract. $5,000 doesn't stop the roof from leaking or pay for the likely replacement needed. My wife and I spend every cent we had on this house.
Currently, filed arbitration through the state and have been told that my case has been approved to move forward.  Also, found out that The Norden Company has been operating without the required insurance.  I had to have the roof replaced again for an additonal $10,000.  While the faulty roofing was removed the contractor showed me that there was no ice and water barrier on the outer perimeter of the roof eventhough Dutch said it was and says so on the contract.  Roofing shingles did not match the warranty listed on the contract and after sending pictures of Dutch's installation I was told by the manufacturer of the shingles that based on the improper installation the warranty would have been voided.  Through massive amount of leaks over the last 9 months I have $10,000 in water damage to ceilings, walls, insulation, and carpet.

Dutch and his crew did our bathroom remodel project. It was great that, throughout the whole process, Dutch listened to us about what it was we wanted to do rather than trying to up-sell us to things we weren’t interested in having done. He gave us suggestions when we asked for them and he was completely flexible when we changed our minds a couple of times or when unexpected things popped up. We really appreciated how responsive Dutch was during the entire process whenever we had questions or needed to get in touch with him about anything. Dutch gave us two modern, great looking bathrooms in a reasonable amount of time at a great rate!

The work went well. Dutch was able to find a few important inches for our small bathrooms. the tile work was excellent. The crew was prompt and polite, and cleaned up after themselves. care was taken not to track dirt through the rest of the house.

this was my first time ever having a structure built. Dutch was great at working with all the inspectors obtaining all permits and advising me of anything that I needed to do. The subcontractors concrete supplier, concrete form co, excavation co. and the electrician were all great and delivered the same level of service. Appointment times were kept stages of construction were on time and the site was kept neat and clean. Projects of this size require contractors have access to the home while working i.e. bathroom, main electrical panel etc. a scary thought these days. Dutch and his crew were left unattended while we were working and always locked everything at the end of day, treated my home better than theirs and even made sure my older dog was able to go outside to do his business and was secured with the house at the end of the day. When parts of the job had just subcontractors working either Dutch or Jamie would come by and check on things. When there were any problems like set back parameters with the town everything was explained fully to a novice such as myself. This experience was like having a trusted family member working for you. Quality craftsmanship, trustworthy people, tidy job site, guaranteed work, all parts of contracts honored this family owned company is fantastic. Yes I would use them again!

We pretty much remodeled our entire first floor and built an extension with two new bedrooms and a family room on our second floor. It was a huge project and involved a wide range of tasks.

On the first floor Dutch and his team opened up all the walls including load bearing walls, gutted the kitchen and bathroom completely, took out the old hardwood floors and even took out the old ceilings. They then installed supporting beams to replace the load bearing walls, redid all the plumbing and electrical needed for the kitchen and bathroom, insulated the outer walls, built cabinets for the kitchen, completely renovated the bathroom which included installation of bathtub, vanity and marble tile work. New ceilings were put in and pot lights were installed along with cabinet lighting and island lighting. Lastly the new hardwood floors were nailed in.

On the second floor, a whole new section with two bedrooms and a family room was built. We also had washer/dryer hookups installed in a second floor bathroom. Roofing, heating, and chimney extension were also a part of this work.

Overall we are very happy with Dutch and his team's work. The reason we chose dutch to begin with is because he is experienced and most of all honest. He had previously worked for two of my friends remodeling their bathrooms and kitchen. This is the first time we did a huge remodel and my biggest criteria for choosing a contractor was someone who was reliable and honest. Dutch spent a lot of time with us initially figuring out the details of what we wanted, gave us a quote for the work and stuck to it. We asked him to do a number of additional things, and he did all of the smaller items within the budget. For larger tasks, e.g. bathroom remodel, new front door installation (which required cutting parts of the the cement foundation), electrical work ordered by the home inspector Dutch gave us additional quotes. All payments, other than an initial downpayment was made once each task was completed. Dutch and his team worked on this renovation project every day for almost 5 months.

Nice guys but not the best quality work. Here are a few of the issues that came up as a result of their work. Drain trap does not have proper clearance to clean it. Did not finish outside trim on replacement window in bathroom. Outdoor spigot connection and shutoff leak. Plaster work was not smooth and blemish free.
