"I own a lot of commercial real estate. I've had them install carpet in many suites that I own. They've been working for me for 40 years, and they do a wonderful job. I would recommend him to anybody needing carpet installations. I've probably recommended him to 50 people who have used him, and have only heard good things back. Product and installation are top-notch. I have a trust set up with them - and I feel it might be with all of their clients - and that is a trust that he is reliable. He makes sure he has the right materials, has a great crew, and can work on a tight schedule."

"We are very pleased with Superior Floor Solutions! The installers were prompt, friendly and upon arrival, went straight to work. They removed the old padding and carpeting in no time and before the day's end, had installed new padding and carpeting in two bedrooms, a hallway and loft area. Their skill and workmanship is topnotch! All areas were thoroughly cleaned and vacuumed before they left. I would definitely have these gentlemen back to do another project! I highly recommend Superior Floor Solutions!"

"I had scheduled my install about 3 months out. They sent email after email asking me to schedule my install that was scheduled. They call you morning of install and give you a 2 hour window. I was called at 7:25am and told they would be here between 8-10am. They arrived at 10:20 am. Only one of the 3 installers spoke English. They installed my carpet and then told me they couldn't take away the old carpet which was part of my contract because it was too soiled and smelled. The one man who spoke English said that either he or another installer would return by end of day to pick it up curbside. I said ok. Never got picked up! I emailed that evening no response from them by noon so I called I was told that installer informed me they couldn't take it with them due to how soiled it was. Salesman saw condition carpet was in. This wouldn't be an issue for me had I been informed up front. I was told on phone she would refund me 16.00. Ask many questions. Just be prepared."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

In most cases, you do not need to put padding or underlayment under carpet tiles. Unlike traditional carpet, which requires a separate pad, carpet tiles are designed to be installed directly onto a firm subfloor like plywood, concrete, or tile. Many carpet tiles come with a built-in underlay and attach with peel-and-stick adhesive, double-sided carpet tape, or glue. For a more comfortable, cushioned feel, especially in residential settings, you can opt for padded carpet tiles that have a thicker underlay attached. While it's generally not recommended to install a separate pad, a compact underlayment might be used in some situations, though this typically requires professional installation. An acoustic underlay may also be considered in commercial spaces or multi-level homes where noise reduction is a priority.

If the installer is unwilling to fix the problems and you’re not interested in seeking remediation, you could hide a visually unpleasant floor. This will only work if the floor is structurally sound and the only issue you have is the way it looks. The easiest way to do this is to use large area rugs. You can also paint the floor, although that’s a labor-intensive job if you want to go the DIY route.

If you don’t put padding under your carpet, the carpet won’t be protected from wear on the underside. This could result in a shorter life span for your carpet and increased carpet repair costs over time. An unpadded carpet can also be less comfortable to walk on, depending on your subfloor and the type of carpet.

It's best to wait until the newly installed carpet has fully settled and dried before moving furniture back into the room. Your carpet installation professionals can provide guidance on the recommended wait time based on factors such as the type of carpet and adhesive used. Moving furniture back in too soon could damage the carpet or affect its adherence to the floor.

Several types of flooring can be installed over existing tile, provided the current tiles are in good condition. Options include vinyl, vinyl plank, laminate, engineered wood, hardwood, carpet, and cork. Among these, various types of vinyl and engineered wood are the most common choices due to their versatility. Alternatively, you can install new tiles on top of your current ones if you like tile floors but want to update the look. Before proceeding with any new flooring, it's crucial to ensure your existing tiles are not damaged; otherwise, they will need to be removed first.
