The materials used were top notch. Deep and wide posts. Strong supports. Mahogany decking. Charlie accommodated our revisions to the design after the contract had been made and this cost us a little more than we expected. However, there was a lot of work to do and Charlie and his crew came out day after day to get it done. The completion date was not far off from the estimate. The quality of the work is good. There were some screws missing in the decking, so we called Charlie and he came right out to take care of it.
We are very happy with the deck and hope to enjoy it for many years to come.

He is very creative and does an excellent job. He made it very beautiful. He made the railings look absolutely beautiful and all my neighbors are quite impressed.

An old house always has hidden problems, but Charlie's guys took it all in stride and fixed everything that needed fixing without making a big deal out of it. The finish work is beautiful - excellent carpentry. The porch steps land on a nice old stone slab and the riser which meets the stone was cut to follow the stone contours very closely. I really appreciate the attention to detail.
 Charlie and his crew were very easy to work with. They gave me exactly what I asked for. The site was always clean. They treated my small deck as if it were their most important job ever. The job took about a week and I feel the price was more than fair.

Excellent job.  After 1.5 years, we're still happy looking at how well the work came out.  They followed up on every last detail and Charlie talked through each step of the process.
They are quite conscientious, thorough--and minimally disruptive.  (e.g. they used scaffolding to enter the 3rd floor via the back of the house so that they never had to walk through the living area on the 2nd)

Very professional, conscientious, neat and polite. They came and went like a gentle breeze and there was barely dust to show they were there.

This contractor is experienced in many aspects of home remodeling. He brings in his crew and his tools and works with both older houses and new. He assesses the situation, gives an estimate, and works diligently to put a solid foundation into the house. We've continued with Charlie for our finish work as well.

Charlie brought in crews for all the finish work and supervised their progress. He worked with his carpenters to hang the cherry cabinets and hung the doors. He had a millwork match the casings of the existing doors, and he installed custom plinth blocks that were a nice touch. The trim work is quite even and impressive. In the heat of summer, the doors swelled and started binding, and he came and resolved all the issues.
