Excellent as usual. This is where we take our 1998 Volvo Wagon. I think a big part of the reason our Volvo is still going strong is Swedish Motor Works. Whenever I have a problem, I call Sarah. She gets it in fast, they do the work fast and well. They are more than reasonable and go out of their way to take care of any problem. We rely on SMW.

Swedish Motor Works has been taking care of my Saabs and Volvos for about 5 years. They are easy to talk with and helpful in diagnosing problems. On this visit, I had a coolant leak and a rattle coming from the front of the car. They fixed both in addition to performing the 90,000 mile service. I usually drop off the evening before or early in the morning and pick up late afternoon. Short walk to the commuter rail is a plus.

All repairs to our two Volvos went very smoothly. Their car drop-off system worked very well for us and they always called to
inform us of the possible costs that were associated with a particular visit (and they always asked if we wanted to keep the old
parts). They're great!

They were prompt in letting me know what they checked and what they found that needed to be serviced. As it turned out, the brakes and ac did not need repairs at this time. If I had taken it to the dealer I believe it would have been a mortgage payment as they tend to fix anything you just ask them to check! I will definitely take my Volvo back for future service needs because I think they are honest and know what they are doing!

They spent a couple of hours looking at it but I did not have any repair work done. I read reviews about them. They seemed better than average but I could not be positive as they did not do any work. I ended up getting rid of the car since it had a lot of problems. I decided that I did not want to invest a lot of money on the vehicle as it was an old vehicle. I ended up selling the car to a car store and there were some problems that cropped up that they had not found. The question was whether they had done something while they were doing the work in the shop. They were not as helpful as they could be. They could have tried to get to the bottom of the issue. Otherwise, there was no problem. I would have given them a higher rating but I was not happy about that part of the experience. There was this one issue that came up and I was not sure if they were responsible for that or not. I was not terribly happy with their willingness to follow-up and to be helpful. The car basically started stalling out after I left their shop. It had a whole host of problems and I ended up getting it towed up to get it rebuilt. It was not stalling when I took it to them but it started stalling after I left their shop. It was unclear if they did something that caused the problem of stalling or it happened while they were taking the car open to look at the parts. They were not prompt to help find as to what was going on and whether the problem came up while they had it. Hence, I am not sure if I would use them again in the future.

This was the first time I used them. It was a good experience. They got me in quickly to do the work. It was very smooth. They have experience with Volvo and Sabb. There are some other shops that do Volvo's, but they are a bit more dicey. I was looking for a place to take my car other than a dealership. They have an independent shop. It's clean. They do a good job. There was no misrepresentation. They were really straight forward. They did their work in a timely fashion.

These guys are honest and reliable. I had been having problems with my Volvo and took it to a local Firestone to be looked at. Their estimate came back at over $2000. The said I needed new rear brake pads, rotors, and new CV joints in the front. Wanting a second opinion I took it to Swedish Motor Works who specializes in Volvo's. A couple hours after I dropped it off they called with the estimate and I was prepared for the worst. To my surprise they started off with saying my rear brakes are just fine (50% worn) and that they do not need anything at this time. Firestone had given me the "I wouldn't let my wife drive a car with brakes like this" trying to scare me into getting the work done. Most shops would have just done the brakes and made their profit but Swedish made the honest call. Then they stated the CV joints were not my problem. That there were some problems in the front suspension and the cost would be less than half of what Firestone had quoted me. Again, most shops would have hit me for the CV joints and the suspension (and the brakes). This was my first experience with Swedish Motor Works but it will not be my last. It is hard to find an honest and trustworthy auto service shop these days and this is the best I have seen.

These guys are fantastic. If you drive a Volvo and it is out of warranty take it here. They really know there stuff. They are very professional and prompt. I find that if there is a problem with the car I can usually get it fixed inn a reasonable amount of time.
