 + -1 moreHands-On was very responsive and worked with us to plan the work, including best design for the deck rail. Removal and installation was very professional and with minimal impact on the residents. The results were great -- the siding is perfect, the deck rail looks great. The people who did the work were friendly and easy to work with, and (as stated previously) did a great job.
Description of Work: Replace siding on front of old house, install railing on second-floor deck, repoint foundation.

Description of Work: Hands-On Construction did some work on our house. They did new "claberg" on the exterior and they put in new windows and doors. They also trimmed around the windows and doors.

 + -1 moreHands-On Construction is by far the best contruction company I have ever worked with. I have several years of experience with them and I have never run into any problems. A pre-construction meeting was held on September 12, 2012 to review time lines and job scope. Construction began the 17th when floors were covered, openings were closed with plastic to retain dust, what was to be removed was marked with red marker Demolition took two days. All construction debree was removed at the end of every day. Hands-On Construction, the client and myself would meet every day at 7:00 to discuss the work to be preformed. Ever Wednesday we would meet for a progress and job preformace report to be signed by the client. Anything needed addressing would be discussed at that time. I was called immediately when problems were discovered during demolition to discuss whether to proceed. Any addtions or alterations to the original contract was stated on a 'change order' form so cost over runs were tracked. The estimated time for completion was met, the space is beautiful and the client very pleased.
Description of Work: I am not the customer, I am the interior designer , JS Designs 101, that hired Hands-On Construction to do the renovation. Richard, from Hands-On Construction came to the property, went through the construction specifications for my kitchen design and finished porch renovation. We met again with the customer to go over the contract and determine the start date. The services performed were: Total gut of the existing kitchen to the studs. Removal of existing exterior materials of wall between kitchen and finished porch, installed new wallboard. Plastered all new walls in kitchen and porch. New electrical lines were run... unexpectedly, previous owner's work, not to code, was removed and redone. New gas line was run, old capped. New doorways created, old ones walled up. Old window removed, walled up. Removed old closet, then patched wooden floors, ceiling and walls. Installed new ceiling fixtures, switches and sockets. Installed new kitchen cabinets, gas oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher and sink. Removed 5 large old metal picture windows from finished porch and replaced with new clad windows. Removed porch floor and framing, reframed for structural stability, removed dry rot, insulated and re-sided exterior.

 + -1 moreThere work schedule was a little unrealistic and took longer than expected. The owner was difficult to get a hold of, but was very professional when we work with him. The owner and another women made good recommendations about what would look good in the bathrooms. The plumber and tile company they contracted I didn't like, but did like the painter.
