This was my first home purchase and my first renovation and thank goodness I hired Colin and his team. This has been a great experience. Colin and his team are thoughtful and talented. My job included a kitchen renovation, a half bath renovation and converting a small bedroom into a full bathroom. Colin called whenever he needed to and kept me up-to-date and well informed always. I really lucked out! I could not have had a better contractor and team or a better experience.

We've hired several contractors over the years for a variety of projects and Colin is hands down the most knowledgeable, talented and easy to work with. We hired Colin and his team to section off part of our already finished basement to build a wine cellar. This included removing the existing walls/ceiling, framing, insulating, putting up new wall, plastering, tiling and installing a door and climate control system. Colin is very professional and tech savy. After coming to our home to discuss the project, he typed up a detailed quote/contract including a timeline with estimated dates of completion for various tasks. He was in constant communication throughout the project via phone, text and email (whether it be about arrival times, project related decisions or summarizing the status). We were impressed by his and his subcontractors quality of work and friendliness. He is detail oriented and cares about how the job looks. For example, to save money, we told him that we would do the painting. However, as the project progressed, he wanted to make sure the caulking on the baseboard looked right, so he primed the entire room at no extra cost. He is also just a caring person. While he and his plumber were working in our mechanical room, they noticed a major issue with our furnace which was potentially releasing carbon monoxide into our home. He and his plumber addressed the issue, even going as far as calling the manufacturer of furnace to confirm the proper set-up. Before leaving for the day, he also ran to Home Depot, purchased and installed a carbon monoxide detector in that room so that we would have piece of mind. He truly went above and beyond and we are very grateful. We have already started working with Colin on another project and look forward to hiring him in the years to come.

Very great person to work with. He takes time to listen to what the customer wants and works with him to finish the project. In our case the painting of the sidings is still left to do because of the winter. But I am confidant that in Spring he will come and finish the painting work.

Colin listen to what I had to say about the job I wanted done. After the work started, called if he was delayed or change of plans. Showed me about how bad things were as he came to more rot. He cares about the way job looks at the end of the day. I would recommend Colin to anyone. Priscilla

Colin Gibson, of Gibson Home Improvement, was the perfect contractor. He listened to what it was I wanted done; he did not immediately jump to conclusions with a solution based on other work he might have done, but took the time and the attention to thoroughly survey and assess the situation before he offered his recommendations. Colin arrived when he said he would, or called to let me know if the schedule needed to be changed. Add this all to his exceptional craftsmanship and you have what I call an excellent contractor. My first thought is that Colin was very easy to speak with and easy to work with. If you do not want to find a plumber, a carpenter, an electrician, flooring peolpe, etc. etc. etc. all seperately and all on your own, than Colin is the guy to see. He has his own people and co-oridinates everything himself. We spoke with 2 other people thru ServiceMagic and they were much more in cost than what Colin charged. One was a flake and never got back to us. We plan on calling Colin again when it is time for us to redo our kitchen.

Colin Gibson recently finished framing my basement and I couldn't be happier with the results. I had no prior knowledge of Gibson Home Improvement, but from price to reliability to trustworthiness, I was 100% satisfied working with Colin. Colin listened to our needs and showed us what had to be done. He completed the job efficiently and saved us from a potential larger problem that we hadn't seen. Also, he adjusted his bill down when the job took less time than expected. This is someone we can really work with.
