The Goldsmith at Chestnut Hill Mall

I had The Goldsmith at Chestnut Hill resize my wedding band. This was a platinum wedding band that I originally selected specifically because of its grooved exterior appearance. When the jeweler returned me the band after resizing I could not recognize it - it was now glossy and shiny. The most they could do to fix it was to remove the gloss and make it matte - but the grooves (and any individuality the ring ever had) were gone. As far as I am concerned the ring was completely ruined. I understand now that it may have been an inevitable consequence of the resizing process - as professionals they should have warned me and I would have likely chosen to exchange the ring for a larger one rather than destroy the one I had. It appears that this store considers jewelry to be equivalent to a piece of metal and nothing beyond that. They cannot be trusted with rusted iron, much less jewelry.
