CC Masonry was referred to me by a good friend. Last year they came to rebuild/replace my falling brick stairway and uneven walkway. I was so pleased that did not hesitate to call again when I decided to have my fireplace refaced. The service I received was way more than "refaced". It is nothing short of AMAZING!! I retained CC Masonry to disassemble and reassemble my 125+ year-old original brownstone stoop which had become disattached from my rowhouse, having selected CC Masonry from among bids because Cornelius exhibited a knowledge of stonework far superior to his competitors. While not inexpensive, the cost was reasonable. A concrete footing was installed and the rubble which originally filled the inside of the stoop was replaced with cemented cinder blocks, both of which should assure that the stoop will remain firmly in place for another century. I was extremely impressed, not only with Cornelius' workmanship but that of his crew who did the work "old style," as it has been done for centuries, rather than with heavy equipment. I would both retain CC Masonry again and I would recommend CC Masonry to others, especially those looking for quality workmanship rather than low-cost "fixes."

Cornelius completely repointed my entire stone basement and did some additional structural repair. He is not cheap, but the quality of the work is well worth the money. Communication and timeliness were also impeccable. I have already hired them for an outside foundation job and a chimney repointing when the weather allows. I trust him entirely to give me an honest estimate and tell me what work needs or does not need to be done. I cannot say enough good things about him and his people!

Poor repair of steps leaving pools of water and soon ice as a hazard to users. Failed to return and repair as promised. 3 requests for receipt of payment ignored . Required additional payment of $100 over and above the accepted price for the job.,! Amazed and horrified that home advisors recommend this company.

"Hi Norman, I was really disappointed to see your review. The steps were in a really bad state of disrepair and I strongly recommended that a major overhaul would be needed to fix all the issues but you opted to do just a basic repair so we were contracted to repair 3 threads in the concrete set of steps and power-wash them. The problem we then had afterwards was that the water had nowhere to go as it had previously been trickling down thru the cracks. I have since gone back to address the puddle issue and done additional work to original estimate to eliminate puddle Issue. Also while I was there, I noticed that access to the set of steps from the walkway was not safe in my opinion because a protruding broken kerb so I suggested we reset the kerb in its original frame ? This I did at no extra charge. We also pressure-washed the entire walkway at your request at no extra charge. We had to get a railing company in to the do the railing and he charged us an extra $100 to his original verbal quote so that is why we had to charge you the extra. Also my secretary was off recovering from surgery and that is why there was a delay in sending the receipt. We were not made aware of its urgency or i would have sent it myself. Cornelius was a gem! He proposed repairing the sidewalk alongside our house rather than replacing it as others hadn’t suggested, which was a third of the cost. He worked around my schedule, showed up promptly and finished on time. He and his crew were neat and very professional. I will be hiring him again next year for another job.

Cornelius was wonderful to work with and understood what we were trying to do and gave us a fair price too! He even did a few extra things we had not asked him to do while he was at our home. We hired CC Masonry to replace some cement edging along grass but more importantly to dig down 15 inches to install a mess wire and cement around base of front porch and foundation to prevent critters from digging holes and burrowing under the porch. I am very happy to say that what Cornelius and his crew did has done the trick and we have seen no sign of any unwanted animals digging since the job has been completed. I highly recommend CC Masonry to do work for you.

They are friendly, polite, and left our property as they found it...all debris removed. They even did little extras such as fixing an old bench that had a missing bolt.
