WALKER PAINTING

At the beginning of the job to paint our living and dining rooms we discussed that, as an old house, trim paint was likely to be lead-based. We also specifically mentioned that we'd had the floors refinished and were concerned that they not be marred. Lastly we emphasized the importance of dust control. Problems with Walker Painting were: 1) dust was found throughout the house which, upon testing, tested positive for lead throughout the house including the children s bedrooms; 2) stripper was spilled on our wood floors which caused prominent damage; 3) blue tape pulled off wallpaper from our foyer; 4) my tools were used in the project which I fortunately discovered and retrieved; 5) Six trash bags were left in the basement and only removed after an argument.

OVER ALL JOB WAS VERY POOR. PAINTERS RARELY SHOWED UP, AND THE ONES THAT DID HAVE NEVER PAINTED A HOUSE IN THEIR LIFE. HOUSE STARTED TO PEEL WITH IN 1 YEAR! THEIR MOTTO IS QUANTITY NOT QUALITY BEWARE!!!!!

PAINTER STARTED FINE, DEDICATING PLENTY OF RESOURCES TO PREPPING THE WALLS. HOWEVER, AS THE JOB CONTINUED, FEWER AND FEWER PAINTERS WOULD SHOW UP, UNTIL FINALLY, DAYS WOULD PASS WHEN NO ONE WOULD ARRIVE TO PAINT. REPEATED PROMISES TO FINISH WENT UNFULFILLED. QUALITY DROPPED DRAMATICALLY, WITH NO EFFORT TO OFFER REDUCTION IN FIXED PRICE AS A RESULT FOR DELAYS. THERE WAS PAINT LEFT ALL OVER THE FLOOR, AND LITTLE PREP WORK WAS DONE FOR ANY WOOD SURFACES, ESPECIALLY WINDOWS. WE CONTINUE TO FIND AREAS WHERE THEY CUT CORNERS (SINGLE COATS, OR NOT PAINTING THE SURFACES OF SHELVES ABOVE EYE LEVEL).
