Mai has been doing this work for us since April. He was not a right fit for us. He seemed great at first, but as the months went by, it started to go topsy-turvy. We signed a contract for the full amount, including labor and materials, no matter what we chose for materials. We said that we wanted Craftsmade cabinets in the kitchen and vanities in the bathroom, and he said that would be fine at that cost. He then told us that he was going to put in lesser priced cabinets. When we said no, he came back asking for extra money that wasn't in the contract. He would not return our voice mail messages or emails, so we would have to pass messages along to him through the men that are working on the house. I think he was planning to just be done with the project last week. He came by and cleaned up all of his tools and took them out to the truck, and then knocked on our door. He asked us for another deposit, but the contract said that our next payment to him would be after the installation of the cabinets. We said no, and he just left. We decided not to have him come back. The work is about 70% done.
