Jeff Boutin Master Carpenter and Craftsman

Mr. Boutin is a professional. He had all the tools and skills to readily reattach a kitchen hood and replace wood rot on the front door framework. He also took the time to identify trouble spots about the house, suggest remedies, and offer his availability for woodwork-related advice.

Jeff was great - the work was done on time, on budget and they were able to preserve our post and beam ceiling during the project. Would and will hire them again for other work!

The workmanship alone is unmatched. He showed up every day at the same time, answered his phone every time I called, and was a huge help with information and resources. He built a beautiful feature wall in my dining room, which has been a great conversation piece. He built me a custom mantle with reclaimed wood and I love it! He renovated 4 bathrooms, 5 bedrooms, a kitchen and dining room. Absolutely great experience! Hire this man!

Jeff was highly professional and helpful through the entire experience. He met with us to discuss construction, needs and expectations. He was open and available for improvements and changes since our office had never done anything like this before. He listened to our needs and made further observations /problem solving strategies to help with our goals that I had not yet thought of! He delivered on time even though he had to work through the weekend. Exceptional craftmanship and very easy to work with. I have asked him to make another frame display, have already recommended him to others, and am keeping him in mind for any home improvements, too!

Jeff was fantastic. He came out and looked at a built-in cabinet that needed resizing to fit a new refrigerator. He gave us an estimate that was reasonable and fair. He gave us a time frame for completing the work, which was also very reasonable and which he honored. He and his assistant did an outstanding job of resizing the cabinet--to the point that it is practically impossible to know that the cabinet was not always the new size. He was honest, fair and most importantly, did outstanding work with great attention to detail. He also removed a wooden mantle which was warped and replaced with a beautiful new, level, wood mantle. We will most definitely recommend Jeff, as well as will use him in the future.

He came up on a Saturday to discuss a major, and several minor, improvements needed to a 1960’s ranch we had only recently moved into. Jeff provided a VERY reasonable quote for his work and a general timeframe for beginning same. Timeframe had to be adjusted outward, somewhat, to complete a previous commitment, but he stayed in touch, and our patience was more than satisfied by the results of his excellent workmanship, and that of his associate, Ricky. If Jeff’s services are needed, again, I’m more than willing to stand in line for them. Thank you, Jeff!

Jeff created and installed new wooden windows frames to replace the ones that were rotting. The whole job went very well. There was very good communication regarding the status of the project, and the work was completed with great care.

I had a personal recommendation for Jeff, in addition to the reviews here. He came out promptly, examined in detail our repair needs, and sent a proposal within a week. He did the work when he'd predicted it would fit his backlog. The new decking and repairs have been done expertly, and he graciously included a small additional repair at my request. I would certainly hire him again for any carpentry needs.

Jeff responded to our inquiry on the same day. Came to our home on a Saturday to view the work to be done and left within a half hour. We received a quote from him within a week, which seemed reasonable for the work to be done so we moved forward. Let us know when he had secured and stained the door for install to schedule a date. Showed up right on time, installed the work quickly (~3 hours), and left a clear work area. Personable throughout the whole process. Would definitely recommend Jeff to others and will definitely use his services again.

We've hired Jeff before to update closet doors in the house, and we liked the work he did so much that we brought him in again to update the rest of the closets in the house. As expected, he was on time, his price was fair, and his work was exceptional.

The door frame was moved to center it in the hallway; otherwise the prehung door frame wouldn't fit. Jeff had to do quite a bit of plastering after the door frame studs were moved. Jeff used drop clothes during his work and then vacuumed after; he left our room cleaner than when he started! He worked for 5 hours and did a perfect job!

We have had Jeff work at our house many times. His work is exceptional. He is a true master carpenter. Jeff knows what he is doing at all times. He is an extremely nice person.

Jeff has done work for us in the past. Our doors are 30 and 40 years old. We had thought we might need to replace one of them, but Jeff rebuilt the frame, weatherstripped and added new sweeps at the bottom. Our doors are almost like new now. So glad we called him.

Jeff was a pleasure to work with--a true professional. He listened carefully to what we had in mind and came up with a design that fit exactly what we wanted. Jeff worked in our home for 4 days. He first took care of all the trim work, some pieces he bought to match and some pieces we had. The shelving was tricky since it busted through a wall in the hallway into the bedroom and we wanted shelves on both the hall side and the bedroom side. We didn't really know how it would be accomplished. Jeff listened, came up with a plan, explained everything, and built the unit with shelves at the depths and heights we wanted. They look great. He got our input for the cabinet over the toilet as far as what we envisioned, including all dimensions and number of shelves. He then built the cabinet at his shop, We wanted to paint it before he installed it, so he dropped it off on Friday afternoon so we could paint it over the weekend. Then he came back on Monday to install it. We love the cabinet. He also accommodated a few smaller jobs we added on. We will definitely hire Jeff again - such good work - such a nice guy - and reasonable rates. We were pleased.

We have worked with Jeff Boutin for approximately 2 years. We live in a 60 year old Colonial that we are gradually renovating. Jeff has worked with us every step of the way. He replaced all the windows in our house with Anderson new construction windows. That involved having to build all new casings for the windows. They came out beautiful. He installed a new bathroom for us. He installed new crown molding and baseboard in the living room. He replaced all the hardware on our kitchen cabinets. All these jobs required finesse. Jeff also designed and constructed a fireplace mantle for us that gets comments from everyone that comes to our house. Jeff's craftsmanship is superb and his finish carpentry skills are impressive. Jeff is a true professional. He always shows up when he says he will and sticks to a schedule and to his estimate. He always leaves the job site clean. We highly recommend Jeff for any job and intend to continue working with him as we complete our renovation.

Fantastic! Jeff did incredible work. He was always on time, his prices were fair, and there were no surprises. He made all of the closets and doors look EXACTLY as I envisioned. There is honestly no comparison between what we had before and what it is now. The house now functions better and looks much much better. It is like night and day. He had to remove the old sliders (and the track up top the door frame), build out the wall to accommodate the new frames, and even matched the trim to the rest of the trim in the given room. Everything looks perfect. So happy with the finished product. We originally were only going to have him fix one or two closets, but the first one came out so well that we asked if he could fix a couple more, and even fix some doors that were not working/closing as expected. He was very accommodating and managed to get them all done on time and as promised. I would HIGHLY recommend Jeff, and know that we will definitely call him again when we finally get to the other closets :)

Jeff showed up when he said he would to give us an estimate. He was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable, his plan made sense and his estimate was reasonable. Although he was booking several weeks out, we decided to wait. Jeff showed up promptly on the scheduled date ready to work. He was organized, neat and pleasant. There was very little disruption to the household while he worked. The whole process was quicker than we anticipated. We are very pleased with how the project turned out. While Jeff was here, I showed him another project I was contemplating in the future. He gave me ideas and sent a rough estimate so I could get an idea of what costs might be involved. We would definitely use Jeff's services in the future.

He removed the panels, replaced the screening using new molding, painted and put them back up with new bottom stops. He explained everything to me and responded to all my questions. I am very happy with the work done and would recommend him without hesitation.
