E. Greaves Construction

We hired E Greaves Construction to do an $83,000.00 total kitchen remodel and were very unhappy with the quality of his work. His plumbers and plasterers were great, but the electrician had back issues and could not work but a few hours a day. Once Ed started installing the cabinets, the project went bad. He installed several of the cabinets in the wrong place, starting with the kitchen sink cabinet not being centered under the window, but 3” to the left. When he called me in the kitchen to show me I asked him why he did that and then asked him to move it over to where it belonged and his response to me was, “I already cut the holes in the bottom for the plumbing.” I made him move it and patch the bottom of the cabinet. We had him remove several other cabinets and reinstall them correctly. His painters did a terrible job and the hardwood floor is far from a professional job. Sometimes he would just not show up for days at a time. He became rude and told us he did not appreciate people looking over his shoulder. He also told us not to communicate any issues or questions via text or email. Now it is obvious that he did not want anything in writing. We had a contract with a payment schedule and he always asked for his payments before he would finish what was supposed to be done, per the contract. The mistake we made was only checking on one reference. We went on the recommendation of our neighbor. I could not find very many reviews on him and he claims he has been doing this job locally for 38 years. We learned a very expensive and emotionally draining lesson.

I dont recommend him. Poor in the details.

Wonderfully! I definitely wanted Ed for this project. He has done work for me before (replaced knotty pine ceiling, windows, and re-sheet rocked my family room resulting in a yearly 20 to 25% savings on my electric bill!) and did a fantastic job! I trust his work implicitly. He is reliable, knowledgeable, fully credentialed, professional, personable, and meticulous about his work. The deck is beautiful and I feel lucky to have found him. I've also told him he can never retire because I have other projects in mind!

The entire experience was wonderful. As a first time home buyer, we were already stressed out with the process, but, to relieve stress on our end, Ed took care of everything from the contractor standpoint. He anticipated our needs to make the process seamless, and did all he could to ensure everything was finished as soon as possible. He was understanding in our needs, and the finished product was exactly what we had envisioned. He worked around our schedules, and always found times to meet to discuss the progress. We were made aware of every step throughout the remodel, and were advised exactly when things would be done (and they were always on time!) and when we could view the progress.

Removed tub the shower and window with a sliding glass shower. Also replaced sink cabinets toilet floor and lights. Another project ED did was our kitchen putting in new cabinets counter tops and floor.

The work was done quickly and of high quality. The work crew left the work area clean at the end of each day allowing us to use the kitchen area at night. Ed was very professional and went over all aspects of what the job entailed and made very useful suggestions, things we had not thought of. I was very satisfied how things progressed and kept to the schedule. Questions I had were promptly answered and any issues I had were taken care of in a timely manner. It was pleasant experience and I would not hesitate to have Ed do any other work I might have.

We have been using Edward Greaves Construction for about two years now for a variety of projects. The work was excellent and my house has never looked so good. The crew was very nice, professional, cleaned up everything after they were done, and finished everything perfectly. They even moved the shrubs to a different part of the yard and their still living. Also, Edward is fully aware, and conscious, of all the necessary codes required for each project.

Totally trustworthy & quality work. Really the best you could ask for.
