My husband described the problem to Phil on the telephone. Phil said it sounded like we might need the igniter replaced. He said it was a part he had available. A specific time was set for the service appointment. Phil arrived on time. After assessing the problem he determined the malfunctioning igniter was the problem. He explained the readings on his meter that backed up his diagnosis. He replaced the igniter. The cost for parts and service was very reasonable.

Great! I like to know what is going on, and often because I am a woman I get talked down to. Phil was more than willing to show me what he was doing and why. That right there gets him great marks in my book! The part arrived for the washing machine today. We installed it ourselves and we are back up and running.

I can't speak highly enough of Phil and will call him immediately whenever I need repairs to any appliance.  I suspect Phil could figure out a clever way to fix anything!  I called in a bit of a panic when my refrigerator's lights and display failed, not sure what was going on and not finding much information via internet searching.  I worried that my kitchen fridge was shot, or that repairs would be more costly than sensible with an 11-year-old appliance (given the geometric progression of obsolescence these days).  Phil returned my call almost instantly, which was good luck for me, and said he could come by to look at the fridge later that day after other scheduled appointments.  He mentioned some helpful bits of information about his experience with this model and reassured me that it seemed possible to repair, but he clearly indicated a practical mindset regarding cost/benefit depending upon the ultimate problem.  Phil arrived a few hours later, having called in advance as promised, and I was instantly impressed with his professional demeanor, presentation (spiffy truck, neatly organized tools, possible "fix" unit in hand, tidy appearance) and friendly manner.  Phil quickly assessed the fridge and went to work trying a few things, since the motherboard replacement that initially seemed as though it would be the required repair wasn't so obvious once Phil took a closer look.  Phil talked through a few ideas with me and noticed that his tinkering with the light switch appeared to have reinstated a lost connection.  That's when the really impressive work began, as I observed Phil research the possible causes and solutions to the switch problem, including the absurd twist that GE doesn't provide this particular switch for replacement any longer!  Phil diligently and quickly found a substitute, ordered it, and explained what would happen next.  The solution was much less expensive than any I had considered possible, and Phil had already managed to get the fridge running, and he was clear and helpful about the follow up switch replacement to come once the part arrived (which also happened very quickly).  Phil went above and beyond in every respect.  I've rarely had the good fortune to be so completely impressed with a professional service provider.  I will keep Phil's contact information at the ready at all times and I recommend him to anyone who requires repairs in their home.  In addition, on an equally-important level in many ways, Phil is friendly, personable, and a good communicator who followed up exactly as promised.  He is a creative problem solver.  And my dog thinks he's found his new best buddy!

He did a great job. He went through the dryer thoroughly, explained everything he saw, and fixed it quickly. I will definitely use him next time I need anything done with any of my appliances. 
Also - he arrived early! That was nice because we had laundry backing up. The sooner the better.

Phil arrived the same day I called to check out our 10+ year old GE Profile refrigerator that stopped working.  He tried several solutions, including putting in a new part to see if it would possibly solve the problem.  Phil patiently waited to see if the fridge would work again and, while the freezer tried to cool, Phil noticed it wasn't cooling as quickly as it should.  He checked which coils were working and diagnosed that we had lost much of our coolant.  He recommended a new unit (which we suspected), but did offer that we had an option to replace the part and go the route of having the coolant recharged.  This would be a short term solution and would need intermittent recharges.  He didn't even charge us for the part that he opened & tested for us - just the house call.

After our front loading Whirlpool Duet washing machine stopped mid cycle on Saturday night I knew we had an issue. Our machine wasn't draining water at all causing the machine to stop and show an error code. I called Phil of Doyle's Appliance Repair on Sunday morning. He returned my phone call quickly and we made an appointment for him to come see what was going on for Tuesday morning. Phil showed up promptly at 8:00 am and quickly got his tools and got down to business. After 15-20 minutes Phil had assessed the issue and found the issue to be a small piece of torn fabric that was wrapped around the drain pump impeller.
He was able to remove the debris from the pump gently so no other damage was incurred. He ran a test cycle and we were all set! No need to replace the pump or remove any parts. Phil was great! He's knowledgable, professional, courteous and seems like an all around good guy. I would definitely call Phil and Doyle's Appliance Repair again.

Phil arrived the day I called for the repair and checked the washer for a clog and found the pump was not working. He had the part shipped promptly and he returned the next day to replace the pump. Phil was friendly and polite and did an excellent job.

Phil came out to see the machine, ordered the parts and returned as we agreed a few days later.
Phil had come to  my house in January to repair a very noisy dishwasher door.  It had been "fixed" about 6 months earlier under warranty by someone else and started to make noise  within a couple of weeks.  After Phil's repair, no squeaks. Such a nice man, very polite and professional.  I would recommend him for any appliance repair.

It's not often that I'm overjoyed with the service I get from folks coming to my house, however Phil was not only responsive and professional, he fixed the problem right away, and was pleasant, knowledgeable and showed us how to maintain our washing machine so we wouldn't have this issue again.

This is the second time we've used Doyle's Appliance Repair, and although I don't want to have to use him, when thing do break, there is no one I'd rather call than Phil.  Thank you once again Phil.
