Carol Slighter was the obvious choice because of her experience and knowledge of the Chelmsford market.  What I didn't know until after I hired her was how hard she works to prepare, position and right-price a house.  She made the whole process nearly effortless for me, and delivered a super-quick, very good result.

My husband and I live out-of-state are moving to Massachusetts in the fall. We are looking to purchase a house in Middlesex or Essex County in Massachusetts. I had spoken with several realtors who all seemed nice and competent, but not proactive. I am so glad we found Carol. She (and her husband, though we have not worked as closely with him) is extremely professional, diligent, and personable. She finds us good listings, she is extremely proactive about finding out information about listings that we might be interested in, she shares her very valuable knowledge but is equally respectful of the specific things we're looking for in a house--and never pushes houses on us that wouldn't work for what we want. She is very honest about which houses don't have what we're looking for, or have issues that we wouldn't have known from the listing, which has been extremely important because we haven't been able to visit a lot of the houses. She has interacted with me by phone and my parents (who have visited the houses for us), and has just been amazing. Because we are first-time home owners, she walks us through every thing we need to know, but does so without ever being pushy or condescending.
We are still in the home-searching process, but I wanted to right a review because I feel confident that her service will remain excellent. I cannot speak highly enough of Carol, and highly recommend her services to potential homebuyers.

UPDATE: With Carol's invaluable help, we were able to purchase a house in September. She helped us through a very tricky process. She and her husband also have been great resources for contractors. I also want to emphasis that she and her husband are absolutely dedicated to finding the right house for us. We looked at houses with significantly different price points. She gave us her honest, experienced opinion on the houses we saw, and relying on that we actually decided against a house that was at the top end of our price range, and which we might have bid on but for her evaluation of aspects of it we wouldn't have thought to think about. The house we ended up with was much cheaper and a much better fit for us. Because we were not there physically to see the houses, her input and honesty was invaluable. I continue to highly recommend her.

Carol is a fantastic real estate agent. She helped my wife purchase a house in Chelmsford in 2005, and my wife was left with such confidence in her that we asked her (and her husband and partner Tim) to help us purchase a home in 2010. Even though some of the towns we were looking in were outside of her area of expertise, she happily showed us innumerable homes and helped us thoroughly evaluate the pros and cons of each one. When we finally found a house in Bedford, she played hardball with the stubborn owner-seller and managed to convince him to drop his price by 3%, even though he had just dropped his listing price by 5.7%. She and Tim are very warm and friendly, and they're a knowledgeable, no-nonsense, straight-talking team. We recommend them highly and plan to use their services again to sell another property.

She was terrific, very active in finding listings for us to see and patient with us, we looked at a LOT of homes.
