JOHN P FOUGERE INC

We have been long-time vacationers in Chatham, and recently have taken up year-round residency. Among the work we took on to make our home what we wanted for our year-round residence, was the need for a rock wall: suitably shaped for our one-acre lot. We contacted several local resources and they recommended John P. Fougere as the optimal choice for constructing an natural rock wall on the basis of “design, quality and price.” We met John in early July, 2011, described our needs, walked the property and, shortly afterward, John returned with a detailed proposal. Our project required the construction of a 45þ sloped wall whose height would range from 6 to 8 feet and whose length was to be meandering and natural-looking to fit our terrain. Per John’s proposal, this construction would require 165 earth-toned rocks in a variety of round and oval shapes, each weighing in at between 300 and 1200 pounds. His proposal included a brisk timeline and acceptable budget. John offered to assign his most experienced person in rock wall construction: an individual named Rick. Like John, Rick is a lifetime mid-cape resident and is very experienced in using heavy and light excavation equipment. Rick knows the Cape’s indigenous rock and stone formations and, as the project took shape, we realized that he is a true artist when it comes to their selection and placement. At the rock yard on the Cape, Rick used a large crane to individually select from thousands of rocks, the ones that would work best for our situation, based on sizes, shapes and colors. After carefully delivering the rocks to our property, Rick had the patience, experience and inspiration to place 165 rocks in such a way that our finished wall looks as though nature put it there! Such a work of art: and the project was completed on schedule and on budget. All told, John P. Fougere deserves the highest possible rating!!
